Ran the riding tractor over the lawn to slowly lower and mulch leaves.

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?
Got a good soaking, so ground is pliable for migrating plugs from mulch-bed edges, to patching lawn. Parceling it out, trying to do ten each day, assuming I get a chance. Using a weasel popper instead of the pro plugger (which I have and like). The popper does better when hitting a stone or root. It ends up with more of a sprig than a plug, which is fine. I can sort my northern mix as well, kgb to full sun and fescues go to full shade.

Mowed at 2.5” borderline breaking the 1/3 rule.
Really enjoying the bounce back from the rain cool weather and urea.
I can see some spots that need to fill in starting to look smaller. Im going to try move more plugs this weekemd.

Sorry, Green. I feel your pain. I'm in a similar boat, so to speak, with peat moss and seed. We only had 2.4" of rain, but it was enough to cause issues.

Getting things ready for winter around the exterior. Everything cleaned up, etc...
Lows will be in the mid to upper 30's tonight/tomorrow morning. Earlier than average. Welcome to the midwest.
My irrigation company has already called in an attempt to set up blowing out the irrigation. I told them I'd like to wait another 3-4 weeks.

Spread 10-10-10 fertilizer on ‘new’ sod. Today was the 6 week mark since it’s been installed.

Mowed at 2”... borderline needed a 2nd pass with the urea and rain really pushing growth.
Excuse to buy a new mower
Is now a good time to find one on sale?

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?
Still playing "catch up". Mowed front @2.5" (last cut on Th), trying to obey the 1/3 rule and encouraging kbg spread. 1st app of Urea is beginning to kick. Lightly watered seeded/peat moss areas which began to dry out in backyard. Kbg seed popping after 8 days (Yes. I know, I dropped seed late), which isn't bad considering deluge on Friday. Temps are still favorable for turf growth. Highs are in the low 70's and lows are in the mid 50's.

The best thing about projects is you always need to go buy a new toolTrent wrote: ↑October 3rd, 2018, 6:31 pmTwo firsts today first mow on reno first mow with new honda hrx217hya my first good mower ever I like it a lot.

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?
Mowed the lawn at 3.5" and starting to get some leaves to mulch. Weather in the high 70s to mid-80s this week and more sun. Grass is growing and looks happier. Mosquitos are really bad too. Two weeks to typical frost, but that is hard to imagine.

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?
Trees went from almost pure green to color and dropping in the span of a couple of days. With 24"+ of leaves over the next 6-7 weeks, this means I'm spreading the leaves and mulching almost every non-rainy day. Oh well...

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?
We had more than 10 times as much rain in the first three days of October than we did in all of September.
That's not nearly as impressive as it sounds, though. We had .08" in September, and .90" 10/1 - 10/3. I think it rained in the early morning hours, so we may be over an inch by now.

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?
Sprayed yard with mixture of serenade/KH/yucca/molasses, even thru in an enzyme product someone gave me. It’s on the late side for serenade (actually wanted to do this a few weeks ago) last fall I got a few small spots of red thread round this time. Things do look good now, I just want to keep it that way…

Mow, trim. Dropped urea. Yesterday was 90, today was 58.
Watched the neighbor aerate and overseed his yard.

Re: 2018: What did you do on your lawn today?
Rain followed me home from work. I was able to get a quick mow in (front & back @ 2.5") under a light rain and make the second drop of urea and watered it in. Celebrated National Taco Day with a run to Taco Bell and finished it off with a craft beer.
