Got out yesterday and mowed with the striping kit attached.

That looks awesome! A striping kit is definitely on my to do list for this winter.

By the way, your rainbow photo in the other thread is absolutely amazing. I'm not sure how people sell and make money off of pictures but that one would definitely sell.

Nice work!
Thank you very much! I highly recommend a striping kit. I have had the Toro kit for four years now. I don’t always mow with it but daggone it looks great when you use it.

Thanks for the rainbow pic kudos as well. Believe it or not, my daughter was actually pointing and saying “rainbow” and I even said “there’s no rainbow out there,” and when I went to close the blinds I was like

It was much more vibrant in person. By the time I went to grab my good Nikon camera it had diminished to barely even noticeable in the sky.

40 mph winds yesterday and power was out. Not a whisper of wind today. Got lawn mowed/mulched, flowers trimmed to ground or removed. A gazillion hostas mowed or cut to ground. 5 hours, but shutdown is started.

Disaster Day!!
...
Lights flickering on and off, no wifi, half of the electrical service out, half on. Turned out that half of the 200-amp service was at 120 volts and half was 28 volts. Electric company refused to believe it, but got here 6 hrs later and said "yup, it's electric company's issue".

Murphy's Law...

Speaking of electrical issues, I was using the electric handheld blower to get leaves off the driveway and scatter them before mowing (after separating hundreds of sticks out). I got caught in the wire, and my foot bumped into the switch. I had almost finished, and the thing shut off. Apparently the motor is fine but the switch (which was finicky for a few years) now has a loose connection, so it doesn't really ever turn on now. So I went and got the backup blower, a 40V max battery powered one, and finished up.

Then the mower got stuck in the on position...weird.

Was only able to do the front. 3 passes on the side front, and one (going reeally slow) on the main front. Probably 75 lbs of leaves mulched into each area...estimating. the rest of the yard is still under leaves, and we have 2 days of rain coming tomorrow and the next day.

I've seen this sort of thing before. Your home has very likely been built atop an Indian burial ground. In my opinion, the phenomenal OM% is worth the ocassional inconveniences and terror.

You sure you replied to the post you were aiming to?
Just checking, because my OM number is middle of the pack.

Blew leaves off six small mini-reno/overseeded areas in the backyard and mulched leaves this morning. At high noon, rain came down in buckets while I was out. When I got home, it looked like I did nothing, so I took the blower out and blew off those areas again. It was still worth it, because the temperatures are favorable for the microherd to break them down (63* high).

Mulched the leaves for the 3rd time since Saturday. Tonight I had to relocate a lot of them to less dense areas around the yard.

We received 1.5 inches of rain this week and then wind which seems to have eliminated all the leaves till hanging on trees. My yard was covered with leaves, so I mowed/mulched them. It looks like the grass has still grown a bit. My neighbor came over and said I was making hers look bad.

Mulching leaves. Last time I did it was Monday.
Took the snowblower out of shed and put in the garage.

Neighbor's trees are just almost done. (they blow in my yard)
I figured after the 1-2" of rain we will be getting tomorrow night, that should just about do it.
Hopefully this weekend I will be able to rake out the gardens and do the last leaf mulching for this year.

I expect to be able to drop my fertilizer next week. Rain/snow is expected.
Last year my notes are Nov. 14 is when I did the "after pause" fertilizer.

Mice are trying to take residence in the shed.
Set one of those tomcat traps. :club:

The last few weeks has produced few leaves, so not too much to do. Then...my wife and I decide to go away last week for a long weekend. Now, my yard is surrounded by big hardwoods and of course they all unloaded while I gone. After catching up at work, I finally got away from the office a little early to work on the mess. I ended up cutting and mulching a boatload of leaves in the dark... pretty sure my neighbors think I've lost my mind. :).

The last two days have been me running home and mulching as much leaves before I cant see in front of me anymore... we still have about 30 % leaves on trees here... my neighbor interrupted my mulching to ask "What are you going to do when there's snow on your lawn and you can't work outside?". I told him I would relax but what I was really thinking is I'd be slowly putting together my lawn plan for the new year.

I've resorted to borrowing my son's LED bicycle headlight. I finished mulching leaves in the dark on Saturday using it and it worked great! It has a silicone-based elastic band that I strap to the cross-piece of the mower handle. It also has a mini-USB for charging.

More rain tonight. Looks like an inch or so.

Can't tolerate seeing lawn companies putting down fertilizer this week. Has to be the second worst time of the year (after July). Supposed to be in the middle of the pause right now.

Moved leaves around from the big hardwoods that surround two sides of my yard. Everything was going well until I hit something and bent one of the blades on my tractor. Serious bend too. I'm still not sure what I hit, but my yard is a very uneven and it is hard to see what 2" of leaves on it.

Forecast says rain on Tuesday then snow on Thursday, I was planning to drop the last app after next week, tough decision.
