And the quote for $377 recently was for 7 applications 3 weeks apart. That seems to be the time needed for re-application of Talster (Bifen) products.
Did you confirm Talstar is what they are using? I may have missed that.

I was looking into getting one of these foggers for $50, but the cocktail they recommend only lasts a day. The stuff the pros spray lasts nearly 3 weeks.

Yes, they use Talstar they said. Lasts 3 weeks so that's the re-application time. 7 apps for $377. Or I can buy a bottle for $35 on Amazon and have an excuse to buy a battery powered sprayer. ;)

Anybody here try liquid garlic?

it’s sold at most retail stores like Home Depot.

This could be very easily added it to a PGR app and applied monthly or every 3 weeks.

The same mosquito company that quote me for Talstar also has an all natural option (which is garlic and something else). It requires application every 2 weeks because it's not as waterproof.

Regarding the Bifen IT, it's a mostiquto preventer or larva killer? Would you use this product to say spray around the perimeter of the house or deck to prevent mosquitoes?

Also seems that Bifen IT will prevent general insects when sprayed around the house foundation.

From reading the application recommendation it seems it does both: To control mosquitoes around buildings, landscapes, and lawns, dilute 0.33 to 1.0 fl. oz. per gallon of water and use one gallon of dilution per 1000 square feet as a general spray. Bifen IT can be mixed at lower concentrations and applied at higher volumes to ensure application of the proper amount of product to a given area.

So you folks would recommend Bifen IT over the fogger or paying $350+ a season? Good results?

Bifen IT is also very good at controlling the type of ticks that carry Lyme Disease.

Just came across this thread doing a search. FYI I've been using Demand CS from Syngenta to spray foliage around the yard and undersides of trees with a Tomahawk backpack sprayer. It's been very effective in our heavily wooded property and lasts around 4-6 weeks (although the sprayer is a bit heavy and I definitely need to wear safety gear including 3M 7600 respirator mask and safety goggles...)

I use Bifen and it works. Also, be careful to take away all of the standing water sources.

Update on this...

I have 2 acres along a creek with main yard fenced in. Lately, mosquito activity has been picking up and I've been lazy about spraying.
Yesterday, I used the 4-gallon backpack to spray 2 gallons of Bifen IT mix (1 oz/gallon) in the areas near the water and some bushes in shaded areas. Also, I sprayed a 3' perimeter along the fence and the house foundation. Mosquito activity last evening went to zero on our back porch, where we like to sit and relax. We also had rain overnight and I was having coffee on the porch this morning. Normally, we would get attacked and light torches. No mosquitoes today. I also like the protection from fleas and ticks for my three dogs that enjoy spending time in the fenced-in backyard. Normally doing this 2-3 times through the summer season gives great protection.

I have a little tempo SC laying around that I usually spray around the house with. Would this work the same as Bifen? Seems like it should. I've never thought to do this and I hate mosquitos, I'm usually the one being carried away.

Any preference for safety between the two with dogs/kids?

Crazy the stuff people come up with! :) Are you using it?

My fear would be the risk of blasting the pesticides all over the place. I'd want a full head covering and face mask to use this (i.e. hazmat suit).

used it 2 or three times so far this season, works great obviously the ppe is up to you, i just wear a mask and glasses like the mosquito joe folks, and try to be carefull and contain the spray to the extent possible along property lines etc....

it works just as shown in the videos on there website. the blower really aeosolizes the spray much more than a battery or pump sprayer alone could.

gets the underside of foiliage, and really coats everything with the very fine mist.
