Do my eyes deceive me?
Now I can't be 100% on this because I try to focus on the road when I'm driving, but I'm noticing on the trees that line the highway here in CT a possible light red tint. Now don't get me wrong it is very very subtle but can it be some trees are I'm the early stages of budding? Or maybe I'm just longing for the season to start.

Could be. I'm noticing a little bud swell on my lilacs, the daffodils have broken ground, and I just read that tapping trees for sap has started in some sections of the Northeast.
Spring's not here quite yet. But it's marching northward, sweeping Winter away as it goes.

It has been a much warmer than usual winter here. The high on Saturday was 56, with a low of 33. It got up to 53 on Sunday.
It started snowing Sunday night and continued into yesterday afternoon, and the high was 31. More snow today with a high of 27.

Absolutely. Last year, or possibly the year before (forgot which), it happened much earlier than usual in our area...as far back as January. That said, some plants normally set buds back in November/December, like Rhododendron. I also have a Hickory tree that has had buds for 6+ weeks.
