That is nutsedge.
Ortho Nutsedge killer will knock it out quick. It just takes a few squirts.

Probably nutsedge...should have a triangular base. Pulling it is pointless as it regrows frum underground nuts/tubers.

Order online either prosedge or sedge hammer.
You can get packets that are cheap and one packet per gallon covers a 1000 square feet.
Sedge can be relentless if you leave a little nodule and ptosedge or sedgehammer will wipe it out.
Also make sure you know if it’s yellow or purple nutsedge as some herbicides like tenancity don’t work on yellow nutsedge.
And if this is in any of your shrubs beds don’t pull it out use a systemic herbicide like sedgehammer. I learn that less the hard way....

Actually, Tenacity works great on yellow nutsedge. It's even labeled for it. I generally see purple nutsedge as the one that's more difficult to control. And then there's green/false green kyllinga. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I'm going to issue my personal minor adjustment to the above -- nutsedge patches spread via underground nuts/tubers, but new pioneer nutsedge plants spread from seeds.greenrebellion wrote: ↑August 8th, 2018, 3:40 pmProbably nutsedge...should have a triangular base. Thus, if you have a nutsedge invasion in your lawn, hand-pulling it won't make much of a difference, as there are lots more rhizomes/nuts/tubers under the soil that will sprout later.
However, if you have an established, mostly nutsedge-free lawn and are getting a few pioneer nutsedge plants, hand-pulling them works just fine, as the new plants in such a lawn have germinated from seed and haven't yet become mature enough to send out rhizomes generating nuts/tubers. I do this semi-regularly, and the yellow nutsedge pioneer plants don't seem to come back in the same places.
