First dry week and high temps. I let it stress some to train the roots given all the water this spring Extremely light waterings to cool it off today and yesterday. So hot now.... may give a deep watering tonight with a light fertilization.

Got some steady growth the past 4 days from my last mow. Expecting that to slow shortly. Dealing with a fungus I just can't ID so I bag mowed and sprayed propiconazole at 2oz rate; gonna follow up in about 10 or so days if needed.

Wanted to avoid synthetics, been very generous with serenade, but I know im not just dealing with a little redthread (seems to be letting up) or rust (shrug) and I'm worried, its spreading. Hopefully this fungicide covers whatever I have. Not ideal, but my eyes are telling me I need to act; conditions are favoring whatever it is I'm dealing with.

Other than that, I'm happy with how well my sand box has been holding water. Wondering if the humic acid apps are making the difference there, along with the 4" HoC (didnt go that high last year).

Trim, Mow and Serenade. Lawn is looking really nice. Will give her a spritz this afternoon probably due to the temps. Will probably have to actually run a full irrigation cycle for the first time sometime this week, at least on the full sun back.

Applied Iron to lawn, staked one of my redbud trees so it grows perfectly vertical, added about 10 perennials and 2 more shrubs to the beds and installed the drip irrigation emitters to them.

Disaster Day - got nothing done in the yard after my 130 gallon show-aquarium suddenly failed catastrophically and flooded the Family Room with 130 gallons of water. Now I need to deal with remediation folks to prevent the whole thing from becoming an unlivable situation.

Aye yi yi

----------

Mowing, edging, blowing to disperse dead blades that have built up in areas.

The DAP has slow release N in it for sure. I watered it in with about 1/4" irrigation the other day and the granules are still visible. Not like urea, where it melts right away.

Ouch. That doesn't sound like any fun at all. Good luck with fixing the damage.

Is that a "The God's Must Be Crazy" reference? If so, it's very appropriate in this circumstance.

Today I got the results of my first soil test and posted them here for interpretation! At this point, these lab results may as well be in an alien language. Haha. #stilllearning

Busy day. Worked on landlord's property at 6am, hand pulling some crabgrass and few other sparse weeds before their holiday cookout. I showed up there a couple days ago to this...

Image

To top it off they were supposed to bag this mow due to fungus. Plus they accidentally cut it back down to 2". Front was set to 3", back were on 2". And they refuse to go to 4.
A sloped yard that gets hammered by sun. We're gonna pay for that. Good grief...

Got home and applied curative rate of granular azoxystrobin (staggering it with propiconazole). Hopefully 1 more app of each will turn things around. Watered it in with about 3/4 " inches. Raked the water off the blades and sprayed 2oz of serenade.

Sharpening blade to trim/mow a neighbor's yard tonight when temps start to drop. Gonna give them some KH as well.

Bought some Brandt Flash Dance iron from site one.

Started my bed edging project as I want to have professional looking bed edges.

Put down double rate (just because) of KH/SLS before some heavy thunderstorms rolled in. Just watching the storm now. :)

Swapped blades to the sharpened set. I’m getting about 20 cuts before needing to swap. I keep two sets and have one ready to go.

Mowed at 4 in HOC today and will stay at this height until late August.

3rd mow at 4”, looks pretty good. Got a 4oz rate app of serenade down with KH and used nu film 17 to hopefully make it stick around for a bit. With the rain yesterday I’m hoping I can hold off watering till Wednesday andgive the serenade time to work.

2nd app of certainty this week as well

We went from 60s and constant rain for a month to 90s and almost completely dry for 2 weeks. I've never seen turf struggle so quickly.

The missed irrigation spots are brown. Family in town for the 4th means watching it happen until I can replace a few broken heads I hit.

I've been in transition mode with irrigation to wean it off constant water too.

My deep watering cycle takes 24 hrs, so I split it up over 3 days to get it done by late morning.

Pretty desolate around Indy... don't think I've ever seen the weather do as much of a 180 in a 2-month period. No substantial precipitation forecasted either :|

Applied Disease Ex on my yard and my parents yard. The conditions are perfect for it and I can see it getting started. Not wasting any time this year.
