It's mid Winter now, and there's a lot of brown grass in my neighborhood, due to the cold temps early in the season most likely.
But some lawns are more green than most. I did some peeking around, and was surprised that in almost every case, these lawns have a lot of ryegrass, and that's what is staying green. It's not known for good Winter tolerance, though...just the opposite.
Interesting, huh?

There is one lawn on the corner of my street that I believe is mostly PRG and always seems to green up quickly in the spring, but gets brutalized over the summer. I'll have to look at it when I have a chance, to see how the winter color is holding up.
