Getting ahead of the fungus

Over here in Oklahoma, we're coming into our rainy season, highs reaching 80's and low's in the 60's, and humid. I'm thinking about getting a jump on fungus but don't know exactly the best approach for preventative application. I mostly go for curing as it comes occurs, but always revert to the whole "ounce of prevention".

What do you guys use for prevention? What's your weather like when you start? I need to get my yard started on Rogaine to prevent any thinning during the summer.

There are a bunch of different approaches but from my research on the site over the past year I’ve settled on this “regimen” as a first year approach.

15-20# of cracked corn because my mulched leaves are still around..... need to get the trichoderma going.

Read up on serenade and companion. I’m going to start using them may 15th at a 2 oz rate. Increase the oz per k as conditions for the fungus “ripen”. From the sounds of your temp, you may wanna start now. The biofungicides are best used as a preventative.

I’ll also be using tko phosphite.

This is all new to me this year so I’ll be looking for decreased red thread, no rust and hopefully a healthier stand of grass.

For me, it's just Serenade. It's a super easy regimen, and it seems to reduce disease pressure. I'm hoping to do the first app in the next 2 weeks on the areas most in danger of disease.

I've worked with the Serenade regimen before...just didn't know if there was a better prescription out there.

Yeah that's what i'm shooting for......whatever a wide open spreader yields lol!
