Rain and Serenade
How do you guys look at spraying serenade and the possibility of rain?
Does it wash it away and render it a waste of it rains say .1”? Does it need to be heavy rain to wash it away?
I’m asking cause I want to put some down but we are expecting small rain. Trying to stay on the proactive side of things but this weather is brutal.

Re: Rain and Serenade
I asked this once last year, heavy rain wipes out the app.
I have always applied after I cut the lawn and I know its going to be dry for a few days.
Some times I mow the lawn, set the timer to water in the AM, then once the lawn dries out the next day apply serenade.
This year has been brutal; I have the rain, but a lot of my KBG is just sitting there. Its just not really growing, maybe the temp's just aren't there yet, or the fact that we get one sunny day every week, the rest are cloudy in the 50's.
I was hoping after saturday things would get going, but back to cloudy this week, at least it will be in the 60's.
Hard to think about serenade and BSF apps when it doesn't feel like spring yet.

Re: Rain and Serenade
Thanks NEL, I aim to apply after a cut too but the rain has just been so frequent I’m just trying to cut around it!
I have a section of my lawn (shaded) that is just starting to grow now, temps and sunlight just haven’t been around much. Damn annua and triv sure grow.
Ive got the red thread back so I need to deal with it. Think I might need to hit it with a propicanzanol app and then get back to the serenade. I don’t know, was really hoping to stay away from any uglies this year.

Re: Rain and Serenade
I have not applied yet, due to almost daily rain this month until this week. Now the wind is also preventing me from spraying. I have a little red thread, too.

Re: Rain and Serenade
So of course since I put an app down yesterday a thunderstorm rolled through last night. Didn’t register on the gauge but I’m sure it washed some of it away. Ugh

Re: Rain and Serenade
Tough to find a stretch without rain. I took a chance and sprayed yesterday as well (Serenade, KH, and molasses). It makes me feel better that I put an extender in it (nu film 17). I’ve yet to find a source that says it shouldn’t be mixed with Serenade. It has the viscosity of honey, and leaves a sticky film on the sprayer equipment (after cleaning the equipment with Simple Green), but it doesn’t clog anything.
