Speaking of "don't ask me how I know", I found the above to be very true recently. What TimmyG immediately confirmed and we ID'ed as almost definite Poa Triv right on here, one of my extensions completely fumbled...after about $25 in mailing and submission fees. I have another extension where the person is being a lot more careful and has already confirmed it as a Poa, but is still working to ID the species.

Received my tenacity today, and also sent out a soil sample
to Logan Labs. I have some creeping bent grass that’s creeping into my lawn pretty heavily from the edge of my lawn. Probably close to 800 sq ft. When would be the best time to light it up with Tenacity? How many applications?

One other question, I’m interested in putting Ironite down to hep with the color. When would be the best time to put it down? Should I wait until my soil sample comes back?

A quality lawn is a project that can take years to nurture. Slow down and get the right answers - it can't be done in a couple of weekends.

Unfortunately, NCSU Extension took that tool down just this morning with no plans to bring it back but will consider if demand is high.TimmyG wrote: ↑May 27th, 2019, 12:10 amI'm not seeing anything in that 3rd pic that warrants concern, let alone that screams Poa trivialis. Is the light shading by chance from KBG going to seed? Or is it specifically grass blades that are lighter in color, devoid of seed heads or stalks? I ask because KBG looks quite bad and lighter in color when it goes to seed, which is now, because of the seed head stalks. In a northern mix such as mine, the effect is quite splotchy.
IDing grass for someone can be very difficult without the absolute best pictures of all the necessary plant structures. You really need to be your first line of defense, so familiarize yourself with an online ID tool such as NCSU TurfFiles and use it to narrow the field. It should also give you a better idea of what pictures you need to take and share to have any hope of us being able to help you.
