And no, not one bit of the soil was imported - that's the real condition of the lawn I purchased on the top, and nothing was enhanced or replaced.

Those hostas look like dinosaurs..... Holy @#$%, that's a Beautiful scene. I may need some advice planting some in the beds

Sold the house, but we just moved so I'm starting over, although I started in much better shape this time.

Go to the "Shade Gardening" sub-forum in the "Around The Yard" Forum, and open a thread then! All I need is someone asking about Hostas to get me going and writing tomes - I *love* to discuss and promote the use of Hosta in shady properties!
