Mixing Certainty - Help/check
Can someone check my math here?
I'm treating Triv, it starts today. Certainty label says .25 ounce per acre.
I'm mixing up one gallon for spot treatments. Box came with a big (.8g) and sall (.16g) spoon
One ounce is 28.35 grams. .25 ounce is 7.08 grams.
7.08 grams divided by 43 (as i'm trying to see the mixture for 1 gallon over 1k sqft) is .164 grams.
So agree that i use the small, .16g spoon, per gallon?
Seems easy i just want some reassurance!

Rather than go through all that math and erroneously use the equivalence of a liquid ounce, just refer to the handy Measuring Scoop Instructions table in section 6.2 Mixing for Hand-Held Sprayers on the second page of the (old) label. There, it equates each small scoop to 0.25 oz/acre when applied over 1000 sq ft. The instruction do also recommend mixing that with 2 gallons of water, but that's up to you.

Thanks Timmy, I did overlook that.
When doing spot spraying, I never know how much really to apply so the two or one gallon mix is a wash for me. It says not to water till run off so I just wet the grass. I’ll be watching it to see how it goes.
I can see why this is a multi year thing..... you’ll never get it all in one year.

Wait...
Based on the above from TimmyG,
Why not just use a digital scale calibrated in ounces/grams the next time, PSU?
I have one and it's super inexpensive but can measure fractions of a gram. I weigh out all my dissolvables that way, and plan to do the same with Certainty this Spring/Summer.

Why not just get tracker and do the whole yard?

Maybe he read the manufacturer's instructions which said:
Colorants or marking dyes may be added to spray solutions of this product;however, they can reduce product performance.

Yeah I don’t want to spray the whole lawn, the triv isn’t everywhere, just a few patches. The spray hurts the kbg temporarily so no need to cause damage to everything.
Plus the Tenacity lit up the triv so I knew where to spray and when I spray the second time I’ll see the stunted grass/growth - it will mark itself!

Re: Mixing Certainty - Help/check
Count yourself lucky you don't have to spray everywhere. I have Triv mixed in everywhere in some cases, and have to spray Certainty or Velocity over a combined 6-7 K and am hoping most of my good grass makes it through. I can only use Certainty on the areas that don't have TTTF, or where I don't mind having to reseed later. My strategy was glyphosate the defined patches, and use the selective stuff on the mixed areas. So far so good, but challenging.
