Help me identify the grass at new home!
We purchased this home with an already established lawn. We tore out some brick pavers that were here. Planted a sun/shade mix with Kentucky blue grass, perennial rye, and creeping red fescue. The grass FINALLY grew in around October. It is still not matching the existing lawn. Is this because it is still immature? Or wrong seed?
First photo is the existing lawn.
Second is the area where we planted new grass. You can see the difference.

Second shot: Probably a mix with Tall Fescue and some other species. I'm looking at the grass immediately next to the sidewalk. Can you post some clear extreme close-ups to verify?
You sure you didn't use seed with Tall Fescue along the sidewalk?!

Re: Help me identify the grass at new home!
I know that when I used to make repairs with scotts sun/shade mix I would go past the point of the existing grass so it would blend it better. I'm not sure what that other mix is, if I had to guess I would say you have some perennial rye because I see a bunch type grass. Could be Tall Fescue as well...I'll let someone else weigh in on this.

The mix was from a local co-op.
