Tru-Green Winterizing the Snowy Lawns?

So, we received a couple inches of ‘surprise” snow on the 28th (see pics). Temps been in low 20’s and teens ever since. No melting and more on the way. Unfortunately, I may have missed my winterizing because I doubt I’ll see my grass again till April, total bummer.

But apparently snow capped lawns doesn’t stop Tru-Green. I saw multiple crews from TG around town today broadcast spreading fertilizer on snow covered lawns. Am I missing something? Or is it just classic fraud?

They're getting paid. So the priority is get the product down and get paid...not so much the results, which are really secondary to getting things done. It likely won't hurt anything. Whether it'll be effective or not is another thing. I think soil temps will be the overriding factor there.

It's just irresponsible. Will result in fertilizer runoff polluting local waterways. Same reason you don't want to be a week late on winterize app onto frozen ground.
