Trees looking confused.

Post by Maizan24 » December 28th, 2019, 2:11 pm

Not sure if it's my eyes deceiving me but here in central ct it looks like some of the trees are getting red buds on them. Its definitely been warmer overall with temps this week in the 40s. Anyone else in the area notice this?

My young Hickory has had buds for about a month, but it's not uncommon for some plants to set buds this time of year. I'm not seeing red buds or bud swell. Usually, that does not happen until mid Feb. at the very earliest.

I have buds on some trees, but they don't appear to be popping any time soon. Forsythia looks the same but further along. And I have daffodil bulbs that are over an inch out of the ground. Nature's weird.
