My ProPlugger came in the mail so I had to try it out. Moved probably 25 plugs around to repair some damage from last summer (chinch bug I think) and some other bare spots.

I wasn't sure on the timing of plugging (is it too early?) but with 1.5" of rain in the forecast this week I figured I'd experiment.

I moved some plugs around with my ProPlugger today too. Also used it to get rid of some wild onion. It's a fantastic tool, and certainly saves my back.

I don't think it's ever too early to move plugs, I would think even dormant plugs will take off once the grass wakes up and starts growing.

I currently have two houses. One we've lived in for a long time, and one we'll move into soon. At the 'old' house today, I put down 50lbs of Milorganite for 2,500 sq. ft, and put down SOP as well. The yard stayed green all winter,it's green and just begging for some warm weather to take off.

Fired up the zero turn and sprayed some Prodiamine on Sunday, rain watered it all in yesterday. Lawn looks to be greening up down beneath all the brown. No noticeable top growth yet except for a thin strip up against a garden bed retaining wall that faces south with full sun exposure.

Got the riding mower running and mowed off some high spots (100% weeds). I did spray tenacity a few nights back on the areas I seeded in the fall and used straw on. Weeds are sprouting like crazy in those areas.

Sprayed yard with prodiamine 65wdg. This was a two weeks or so earlier than last year, but the forsythias are turning yellow. I need to remember to have extra check valves on hand. I left one in a wand over winter and it got gummed up. Getting rain overnight into tomorrow.

Lawn steadily creeping back to green; think just a touch more sun will flip the switch.
Put down SoP a couple days ago before a good rain.

Waffled on applying prodiamine; average soil temps still hovering sub 50, but hitting short lived spikes of ~60 in full sun.
With a string of partially clear 60 degree days in the forecast, along with sporadic rain, think I'm gonna pull the trigger tomorrow night and hopefully get a good .5" rain thurs/fri.

Pulled a lot of poa annua seed heads and plants. I used dimension last September and I believe most poa annua germinates in the fall so I’m a bit surprised I have this much in the usual locations. Multi year battle for sure. I may hit it with tenacity when it’s less windy, did dimension a couple weeks ago.

Yesterday I worked on rut repair from the snow plow guy. Only had to have the snow pushed back once but he made multiple passes. Will probably end up doing a little bit of filling in as some of the ruts are fairly deep.

Gotta source 0-0-50 . Sent an email to the local farmers exchange's agronomy center to see what they have as I'd prefer not having to drive into Traverse City to get it.

Sprayed 2nd velocity app on the triv in my TTTF lawn. The triv is now growing slower than the tttf and is turning brown. I'll probably apply a 3rd application in 2 weeks but I guarantee i will see it again in late fall early spring.

First day out in the yard today - finally! The list of tasks-to-do for damage over the Winter is way larger than I was expecting for the the end of a very mild Winter.

Applied 50lbs of Ferrous Sulfate (2.3 lbs/k) with the tractor mounted prayer. Spot sprayed glyphosate. Also, mounted and played with the Johnny Bucket as I get ready to use the new toy for tan bark this year.

Applied humus and lobster compost to the garden. Gave it some kelp and humic acid afterward.

Applied some ferrous sulfate to take out a little moss.

I've been spreading sawdust on my hard pan hills. I sourced it at the local dump during the Jan thaw. I got 5 Rubbermaid trash cans of it.
