That's a wrap. Sort of. We're close to the end of the season, I'm kind of guessing, and had what looks like one of the last decent clear days (55°) outside. So...mow (took off 3/4", but it's been two weeks).

And dropped 32 pounds of Vigoro Super Green. Yes, yes, it has a lot of slow-release N, but I'm in a no-freeze zone with a lawn that's alive in February. For me, this is acceptable. Plus, frankly, that release curve is mostly in the first month anyway since late fall soil stays wet. And it has a lot of iron.

So 1.12 pounds per thousand N (a technical 0.56 slow release). 0.16 pounds iron. Light rain starts in an hour or so, and continues with showers through Monday.

Did a final cut and mulch. Applied 2lb/k urea in front and 1k/lb in the back with the newer sod. NIce rain coming over night. Good night lawn!

No grass growth for a week.
Rain is expected tonight and tomorrow.
Dropped final fertilizer (the fertilizer similiar to Morph"s).
I've been using that for many years now.
Good night lawn....Zzzzzzzzzz :amen:

Mowed the last of the leaves yesterday, cleaned out all of the beds and mowed the hosta. Only cut a few blades of grass. Probably done mowing this week & dumping nitrogen, maybe one more late season mow to catch any leaves that blow into our yard.

I dethatched this fall for the first time. It needed it bad - but the front lawn still hasn’t recovered. It looked like the bluegrass spread in the thatch layer instead of the dirt. This is the worst my yard has ever looked at the end of the season. I’m sure it will be just fine next spring.

Noticed no top growth since a week after last mow so I dropped my winterizer application yesterday before all of this rain. That's all folks.

I had some thin/dead spots that popped up in my front yard late summer either due to lack of watering in August or something else. I probably should have overseeded this fall but I have been winning my battle vs Poa Annua and decided to do a winter pre-emergent application instead. I'll see how those sections take to all of the fall feedings next spring and probably seed next fall.

Im tempted to drop my final application of urea right now in the rain, but wondering if it will just get washed away between the rain and snow.

My grass is still pretty green and the next two days are mid 50's, so I mixed some tenacity and sprayed poa trivialis plants. Also some poa annua.

Me, too! I did watch it snow on my lawn today, a full half inch of the stuff.

I was in West Chester driving back to Harrisburg around noon yesterday and I had a nice little snow squall on my drive. We didn't get much of anything here, but I guess winter is upon us! Good news is that I have the tractor converted to snow duty and even have a heater mounted in the cab.

winterized with 2 lbs/k urea. Finished putting it down minutes before about a half inch of rain fell! Pretty late this year but the ground isn't frozen. Hopefully it's not wasted.

If the lawn is green, you're fine. If it's brown, it could be a waste.

That's actually good timing. I did mine the other day, and a neighbor did theirs today.

Actually yesterday. It was a brew day, so I spread ~12 lbs of spent grain on the lawn.

Switching to all grain has really increased the amount of OM I'm adding to my lawn.

Good to hear. Lawn is still green, not growing. Wanted to get it before the ground freezes and the big snow later this week!

Today was a beautiful sunny day in the upper 40's, with no wind. I did some raking, spread some straw over a small dormant seeded area and cleaned up brush and sticks in a perimeter area. It was great day to be outside. Tomorrow a high of 19 and a low of 13.
