Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Last week, I raked up debris and bag mowed to clear more debris and chop down what I think is Bittercress. Today, just stared out the window waiting for the bluegrass to really start growing.

Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Last week, I pulled the driveway snow stakes and "summerized" the snow blower for the year. Still need to do the pre-season maintenance on the lawn mower.
Pulled some poa trivialis from a patch that developed in a shady section last fall while the KBG was struggling with disease. Can't imagine that I got all of it, but slowing it down is better than doing nothing. I'll need to wait until it greens up to assess just how bad that area is.
The sunnier areas of the lawn are greening up nicely. The shadier areas are still mostly brown and dormant.
We're not doing anything on the lawn today due to the weather being a rain-out with about 1.5" of rain expected in 24 hours. I still need to get down a pre-emergent application -- hoping to do that this week.
Today, however, I did get caught up on reading / skimming postings here since last fall (when I entered winter mode and dropped off the forum for a while) and am once again thinking of lawn care.

Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Yesterday I spot sprayed weeds with WBG.
I hope it wasn't all for naught due to the cold weather now being predicted.
I believe I read that you can apply when temps are 45, which it was in the low 50's yesterday,
but nights are expected to drop below 40's with snow predicted Friday night into Saturday.
Make it stop!!!

Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Applying SoP and KH to a couple lawns.
Home lawn looks ready so I'm giving it the 1st nitrogen with epsom. Didn't get much N from summer on, and no winterization; feels/looks like a good time.

Mowed, sharpened blade, continued the Philes method with dash of multi-purpose fert, applied BLSCH + KH and finally had a successful run of irrigation system. It randomly exploded late last week where it ties in to municipal line. Then the plumber broke a PVC pipe that goes to individual zone while digging. All fixed up and ready for the season! (Also, had Milorganite withdrawals).

Yesterday I applied 13-13-13 balanced fertilizer per my soil remediation plan and I also applied cracked corn at 20lbs/k. I had some fungus issues (I think) in my back yard last year and based on what I've seen here thought the corn could help that.

Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Seeing how the weather is going to be wet for the most part for the next week....
Some of the lawn was getting too long so....
So yesterday did my first mow, which is about 10 days earlier then last year.

Cut at 3.5" and sprayed a second application of Triclopyr. Clover and grassy weeds pretty much gone. Also, moved some sod plugs to bare spots in the front.

Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
A new internet/tv company (for the area) have been working in the area. Conduit pulled through my front lawn, and then today the digging of boxes, etc..
Made a bit of a mess in part of the lawn. They were going to leave a tarp full of dirt and dug up grass on my front lawn, which they would "pick up in a few days". I politely asked them to at least move it to to the parking strip, which thankfully they agreed to. My neighbors lawn, wasn't as lucky.
Mowed, picked weeds, trimmed. Mulch several areas.

Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Very cold and raw today.
Mulched most of front and backyard gardens.....
followed with 2 Ibuprofens
Tomorrow rinse and repeat.
Temps should make it to 50 with possibly the sun making an appearance.

Re: 2020: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Mowed and applied 2lb/k glutamate and also had all the gardens cleaned, edges cut, and mulched.
With the isolation from Covid its nice to have things starting to look good outside. I imagine we will be spending a lot of time in the back yard this early summer while we wait for the lifting of social distancing bans...
