I dug up all of the forms and contact info for soil testing, and made plans for overseeding next week based on the weather forecast. I'll pull samples for soil testing as part of the prep work.

Gathered soil sample, cleaned up flower beds and put out a few bags of mulch yesterday. I'm mowing later today for the first time. There are spots in my yard that need the trim, while others are still rather sleepy.

Threw down 0-0-7 with prodiamine (first split app).

Cleaned up some straggling leaves. Bone dry so I could crumble them by hand along the way. Feels good. Still a fair bit of leaf clippings in the mix, ready to be gobbled up when the party starts.

Lawn looks like winter punched it in the face. Came out of last winter looking much healthier. Maybe the reduced snow coverage allowed the cold winds to do their worst. Or my lack of fall nitrogen (was dealing with leaf spot from summer onward).

Ordered some replacement parts; nozzles, pump assembly...
Have most of my supplies ready to go. Waiting on a trip to Carl's for some BSF. Ordering some liquid azoxy soon; granular doesn't seem to be working out for me.

Ready to rumble.

Gathered my soil samples for analysis yesterday (what a PITA that was). Also mixed up some Weed-B-Gon and sprayed weeds that are creeping up around the beds, driveway and pavers. Picked up 2 bags of Lesco 19-0-7 and now just waiting for those yellow buds to bloom.

Forsythia in my yard is about 25% in bloom while the neighbors 200 yards away is in full bloom and has been for almost a week. Different species? I notice his always blooms earlier than mine but they have the same exposure. Both are rows old at least 40 years old. We are expecting some rain this week and I’m not sure I’d get it down, and we are scheduled to fly to Turks and Caicos next week (might cancel and eat the cost, don’t know yet), so I decided to spray Dimension at .37oz per 1000 sq ft rate. Used MY4sons sprayer, which I love. I skipped about 800 sq ft that I’ll reseed later today or tomorrow. For those spots I’ll use Tenacity at seed down, another app in 30 days, then Dimension. Don’t want to wait for August.

We just got back from Turks and Caicos today. We’ve gone just about every year since 2010. They still have eggs, bread and toilet paper on the shelves in IGA so you should be okay to travel there. I’d say it might even be safer there lol.

I’m planning to pull this years soil sample in the morning. This is my 5th year and I’m really excited to see how things are rounding out!

I don’t mean to hijack this thread. I’m not worried about T&C, more the airport and coming back. I hear incoming international flights and processing is a nightmare. To keep this on subject, if I stay home more time for cleanup and such!

Threw down 0-0-7 with prodiamine (first split app).
How many applications and how far apart are you planning to do?

One more app probably in early to mid May as soil temperatures approach 70°.

Yes def not trying to hijack. I hear ya about the travel. We got through customs very easily Sunday night. I think as a us citizen coming from the Caribbean they weren’t too concerned. Either way whatever you decide, it sounds like you'll enjoy yourself!

Back on topic. I sprayed .5lb/acre rate of prodiamine for the first time today. This is a full 2 weeks early compared to last year. I was surprised how yellow it was compared to liquid dimension. I thought dimension was the one to watch for staining...

Lawn isn't doing much, but the weeds seem to be popping up.

Expecting rain tomorrow; sprayed my pre-m, and put down granular dimension for my sister.

Before that I collected my samples for my soil test and will send it out to local labs tomorrow.

Yesterday I replaced the carburetor in my HRX 217 and mowed, mostly to chop up some twigs and leaves that gathered over the winter. Also applied prodiamine, forsythia are blooming here in PA, and we had .54" of rain last night. Timing worked out well.

Took some aerial shots to assess yard. Fall N regimen kept me pretty green throughout winter.

Applied SOP, did some weeding. Then went for a surreal walk around town and saw about three people.

Took soil samples on the 12th, got the results back on the 19th and the results were weird. So, will be taking more samples this coming week.

Been walking the lawn, picking up the odd crap that rolls in. Planning on dropping pre-m this week after the soil samples. Looks like we'll be getting a nice rain in a few days.

Mounted my deck and did a little cutting. At 4" cut hejght, I had a suprising amount of clippings to mulch for mid-March. Also, cleaned up some debris.
