Tracking the Forsythia Line

Well, it's that time - given that the weather has been warmer than normal in many of the northern states this year, I'm firing up the Forsythia Watch a week early this year. For the newer members that don't know why we would track the bloom time of a plant, the Forsythia bloom is the optimal time to apply Pre-M in the North, and seeing where they are blooming tells us when you need to get in gear and make sure you've got it in stock and are ready to go.

So, please post here (in this thread) when your yard (or in your travels) the Forsythia are blooming. Please make sure to post the location/town where you saw them.

Spotted in my backyard in OKC yesterday. The bush only has 3 open flowers but suspect the rest are coming soon!

Man, this is when I get jealous - the Forsythia still look like it's February. I had to settle for seeing the first Crocus blooming today.

Got one or two early buds coming up in S.E. Massachusetts. Probably give it another two weeks before we are in Pre-M territory.

I'm located in just about the center of CT. The northern and eastern boundaries of my property are lined with Forsythia and not one shred of yellow anywhere.

I hesitated to reply since this thread is about blooms. But for the record, buds forming here on some bushes/branches fir the past few weeks now, but not yet widespread (about 15 miles South of the one of you seeing buds, maybe).

We have bloom starting here today in inland CT. About a week earlier than I expected, and 2-3 weeks earlier than average.

And a mile or two South of me today, I saw a row of plants in total full bloom. Must be an earlier blooming cultivar or something, because some others one yard away were just starting to bloom.
