suppressing Bermuda in a TTTF lawn

Post by starpartyguy » March 27th, 2020, 9:10 am

I have a patch of Bermuda in my TTTF lawn. I estimate it's 300-400 sq. ft. And it borders the front corner of the property. It is currently brown and starting to reawaken with patches of the bluegreen grass coming through the dead brown.

Can someone give me a good plan of action to remove it or suppress it so the TTTF will take over or at least have a fighting chance?

I bought 8 oz of Turflon Ester because I know that's part of the process. Any other stuff I should apply?

Thanks,

My research suggested Acclaim, Turflon Ester and a spreader sticker.

Does your research include testing that combo? Results?

I've got a few years of this under my belt with acclaim extra and turflon ester. It will suppress it, but it won't kill it. I thought I won the battle after a couple of years of monthly applications, but after leaving it alone for a couple of months, it came right back.

I now spray monthly in the summer months and it keeps it from taking over the tttf and you don't even see it. Monthly applications are absolutely necessary.

You can look for my posts on the specific witches brew I found from an old post on this forum. I know others are using a combo with tenacity, but I've yet to try it.

How about roundup? Not a fan but if it needs killing...
