Midnight Monostand Pics Seeded August 2019

Post by rxrep » April 5th, 2020, 5:44 pm

Thought I’d post a couple of pics of my neighbor’s Midnight KBG monostand I helped him to do. This was seeded mid-August 2019. It came out really nice and color is really dark for just 8 months old. Some Poa annua and Triv we are going to have to kill here and there and reseed, but overall pretty good. Waiting just one more mow before we kill the weeds. By the way this is in southern New Jersey.

Really nice! When you say kill the weeds are you talking about broadleaf or are you going to tackle the poa annua and triv this spring? Great job.

He had just cut it the day before I took the pics and I would guess its probably cut at about 2 1/2 inches maybe 3 at the most. My own midnight monostand is doing great so far although last year I was very disappointed with respect to leaf spot fungus issues. Very frustrating. However when its healthy, its amazing. Very thick, spreads vigorously, and very dark green. I know some folks are always looking at the newer varieties but I would highly recommend Midnight.
