Re: Tenacity First Time User
Tenacity shows you all the weeds.
It bleaches out POA Annua and POA Triv. It will even bleachs out Perennial Rye and Fine Fescue which are desirable grass. Easiest way to tell if its POA Annua now, is the bleaching and it will have seed heads.
The bleaching will go away in the good grass, and it will take more than one tenacity app to get rid of the POA Annua. Tenacity won't kill POA Triv, if you think you have that, you will have to kill it with glysophate in the spring before it goes dormant.
To be honest if you have cases of clear cut POA Annua; your best bets are hand pulling or glysophate. Tenacity never completely killed all the mature POA Annua in my lawn, but if its too intermixed, glysophate isn't really an option.

That looks like you took kind of a meandering path with your sprayer rather than covering the entire lawn evenly.

Re: Tenacity First Time User
That is pretty egregious. What amount of Tenacity was applied to what amount of water? I stopped counting visible errors at five.
Luckily, I think that is going to survive.

Re: Tenacity First Time User
I was embarrassed to post this. My father has a landscaping company and I am hesitant to show this to him as he may disown me for life lol.
My wife laughed at your comment Andy. I may have overdosed the tenacity.
I’ve put a lot of effort into this. What can I do to recover?

Re: Tenacity First Time User
Seriously, I think it will survive. I've seen only one lawn that had serious damage from Tenacity. in the decade it's been out. But you need to fess up on the application rate, because it's gonna get worse before it gets better. It's sort of two weeks to the "why is my lawn white?" stage and two weeks back. Keep Dad away from your place for that long!
Please let us know how much Tenacity was used per gallon of water - even if you used ounces or tablespoons of the stuff instead of teaspoons (you wouldn't be the first).

I used ounces per gallon. It was a major overdose. Hope not catastrophic.

Yeah, well, like I said you're not the first - we've seen enough of that mistake that we can recognize it by sight.
Keep it watered but not soggy, and mowed around 3". Don't try funky games like trying to fertilize it back to health. It will turn whitish increasingly for another week, and then (with some luck) begin to green up again. You may lose some density for a while, but even that should recover with time. Don't invite Dad to drop by.
Let's see updated pictures in a week or so.

Ok - I have some Pennington Fast Acting Lime Plus AST. Should I use this? Based on above, no right?

Re: Tenacity First Time User
Would you get into a Triathlon if you were very sick?
Read back - earlier I stated
Read back - earlier I stated
You need to sit back, keep it watered, and have an adult beverage (or 2 !!) until it is FULLY green again.Don't try funky games like trying to fertilize it back to health.

Don't you have to be a little sick to even want to get into a triathlon?

Re: Tenacity First Time User
The white areas don't concern me at this point, but I see some brown areas that may indicate damage.

Re: Tenacity First Time User
You could lightly rake it to prevent matting of the areas that are showing any brown color, and keep it watered. Mow more often to keep matting to a minimum - after raking.
