Is this disease or something else

Post by Coop_V » June 16th, 2020, 2:46 pm

I've been having the same problem every year in the same spots. I've made previous posts about it but I've noticed in those same places im having some yellowing early on(usually I only have problems in these spots in late August thru September).
Now while in aug, sep. I have major die off where right now its just like a percentage of the grass is yellowing. Now it looks like disease from the lesions on the blades but its not in circular shapes. I already plan on spraying propiconazale as soon as things dry up but I'm still just guessing with these trouble spots and if I could iron out these spots I can focus on other seeding projects in the fall instead of focusing all my time on getting the lawn back to life. It does seem as if these spots that it happens stay the wettest the longest. But I have other spots that stay just as wet without the issues so I'm just not sure.

Here's a picture of the damage I get in late summer.

Do the spots recover after the weather cools, or are they really dead?

The first three pictures are from today. There isn't any die off just a lot of mixed colored blades. The last picture is from late summer/early fall and those spots are fully dead.

I have an eerily similar situation posted here:

I'll be following this one closely! The symptoms sound the same including the late summer die off. Only difference is I put down Azoxystrobin instead as the antifungal.

Does yours fill back in in the fall and spring and start to look good just in time for it to die off the next year?

I have fescue so I seed in the fall and it comes back great from seed every fall and looks amazing up until late August every year. I have about 35k sq ft of yard and I'd say less than 5k sq ft of it gets bad every late summer but most of thats in the front so its noticeable from the street and just really annoying. The majority of my backyard seems to not really take a whole lot of damage.

Wow, that looks great! Given that I have KBG - it may not be the same thing then. Just same symptoms. I'm still going to follow this one closely.
