irrigation plan?

Post by pristinegreen75 » June 24th, 2020, 1:12 pm

Not much rain lately here. Have to resort to irrigation. I know water deeply and infrequently is the mantra but that would take me 5 hours to water the back yard to get an inch. Would a 1/2 inch twice a week?

Best to spend the five hours but do half the backyard each half of the week to spread it out. I have six lawn zones. They theoretically wouldn't get watered all the same day if I watered as they'd also require three to four hours each to put down an inch of water.

Agree. The longer the watering, the deeper it gets - and that means it's harder for the sun to "bake it out" of the soil.
