Anybody putting down a Summer Fertilizer? I know it's not recommended, but a slow release maybe Ok.
If so, what brand and NPK?

I think if you wanna do it you should look at organics. Alfalfa, milo (or local equivalent) etc.

None. I let the grass nap until late August.
But if you really want to, corn meal or cracked corn is a great choice. It's really low in nitrogen but a good organic additive and the microherd loves it. Plus it tends to be cheap at the local farmer's co-op or grain mill.

I’m planning to do cracked corn. I saw better results with the shredded fall leaves decomposing faster last year after I did a summer application of CC.

Huma Gro Breakout and Curiousity are what I’m using every 10 days getting my lawn whipped back into shape after some fungus damage.
Also using RGS once a month.
No full apps of synthetic until late August

Maybe Mulching every 4-5 days would be good also...

My summer fertilizer of choice is water. Hopefully in the form of rain, but I'll use the synthetic city version if I need to.

You can also apply 0-0-0 fertilizer in whatever quantity you desire, whenever you desire. Make sure to also apply it with Dihydrogen Monoxide.

I expose mine to gaseous dinitrogen as well. I hope that's OK.
