"America" KBG may be making an exit

I started hearing rumblings over a year ago, but dealers weren't totally sure back then. I was told by a dealer very recently that America Kentucky Bluegrass is indeed on it's way out as of mid 2020, and most likely what is in the distribution chain now will be the last of it...it's unlikely to be grown again in the future. Sometimes these things don't end up 100% accurate and cultivars are grown again, but often when you hear that, it ends up being true. It has been around since 1984 and has a whole category named after it. It's a decent performer in light shade, and has a unique disease resistance profile. It's a bit lighter green than some. If you need some, now is the time to find it...

I can confirm what I wrote last week. The seed I ordered to keep around for any potential repairs arrived. The sales slip states "discontinued" next to America. Seed usually lasts a few years when I store it. After that, no more repairs with America KBG seed, I guess...only transplanting plugs of the lawn mix from one area to another and reseeding with the two cultivars that are still available.
