Stupid Ice Storms!
2020 never fails to deliver! I've spent 6 years adding more and more trees to my backyard and front to get enough shade in OK to grow KBG decently. But oh no no, Oklahoma has to get ice storms. Last 3 days my trees got piled on with about an inch of ice. If the leaves had fallen, damage probably wouldn't have been extensive. But lucky us! My largest elm was snapped at ground level, one of my 3 year old elms has fallen into another. Most are snapped in half. My 2 ash trees that have never lost a limb in 6 years, are shredded...even my mature oaks got brutalized.
I guess I'm gonna have a little more dappled shade...or sun...now? Time to start cleanup. It's supposed to be 70 next weekend so that's a plus. Can't wait to kick 2020 into the rearview.
