Generic mesotrione?
Is the generic version of Tenacity (Mesotrione) exactly the same as the name brand?
I do not see much of a price difference which I find puzzling?

Have you compared the labels? The label should be the source of truth.

I didn't find the small savings worth the chances that it was not as good.

Re: Generic mesotrione?
The generic is 40 percent Mesotrione as per the label by only a 4 dollar difference in price. As stated above, why chance it?

Yeah, with Tenacity being about the same cost, I saw no reason go generic. Now, maybe if you were buying a gallon, the savings ($64?) would be a factor. But unless you have a huge yard, you won't be buying that much.

I've still to go through my first half-pint. So when I talk about overspraying and applying too much, you should probably take that into account. Of my first half-pint, I have about half of it remaining and I bought it the first year it was on the market.
Pardon, I'm killing time until the cadmium red on the poinsettia painting dries.

8oz of 'generic' is $48 here
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L3S9FKX
Compared to $69 here
https://www.amazon.com/Syngenta-46256-T ... B07M9SQ9CQ
Both state mesotrione 40%.
I purchased an 8oz bottle of Tenacity about 8 years ago (I think I paid $65) and it ran out last fall. I used it to spot spray a 5k sq ft lawn. About a gallon sprayer would do the trick a couple times a year. Stored the container in my basement. It was still effective right up to until I ran out. Sometimes I would put in some triclopyr. (1 to 2 tablespoons triclopyr, 1 teaspoon mesotrione per gallon sprayer). I could put in 2 teaspoons mesotrione per gallon, but think that's overkill and turns more grass blades white.
I purchased the now $48 bottle for $45 in January. Hoping it will be as effective as the Syngenta stuff.
