Yesterday I spread some spent grains on the lawn.

Today, I bought a couple of spreaders. One is a handheld for the humic acid. The other is the push kind because my old one was somewhat unpredictable.
What push spreader did you get? I am thinking about upgrading. Right now I have an Earthway 2600A.
The one I got says "Expert Gardener" on it. They had two different brands on the shelf. The other one was Scott's and cost about twice a much but didn't look like it would be twice a good. Also, I'm a cheapskate and since I'll only use it a couple of times a year, I don't want to pay much.

If you're planning to upgrade, you probably don't want to follow my lead.

Sprayed my 2nd application of CCO.
Just made the 14 day application, and 2 days after mowing, and the 6 hr. window ....
before the rain/showers which is forcast for the rest of the week.
We already have our water restriction (almost 3 weeks now) in place so I depend on Mother Nature.

Spread 6 bags of Milo last night in advance of some rain. Looks like we wound up with just over an inch.

I meant to add 3TBSP/K of 20 Mule Team, but only did half of that because I had the wrong rate in my mind. Gotta check my notes next time!

I’ve had to spread out mowing in between rain showers over 2 days. Got it finished this afternoon

Mowed yesterday. Last mowed 5 days ago.
My lawn seems to be slow getting started this spring.
It seems to me I am usually mowing more frequently.
Maybe because of the cool temps we've been getting....
having said that....I am starting to see seedheads.

Walked into backyard this morning and saw 5+ hosta eaten to the ground, one pulled up entirely... sprayed Andy’s deer repellant mix with Nu-film. Goal was today, they beat me by one afternoon!

Last night I put down 300lb of alfalfa meal and 70lb of Milo with Borax and copper sulfate. Equalled about 1.3lbN/M total. Milo was greens grade SGN90. First time using it. Interesting stuff. Worked fine.
BTW - alfalfa meal is a LOT of work. Usually I can spread stuff running every 3rd mower row (about 4.5ft part). To get 33lb/M alfalfa I had to run the cart down every row, filling it about every other run. I'm excited to see the results, but it was a lot of work.

1 lb/1000 of OceanGro. Cut out a few sections of dead grass, poa, etc and replaced with manure and some GCI TTTF.

Tore out 1' sections to make way for new sidewalks and curbs. Hopefully the city doesn't drag their feet and I can get everything back in place soon. On the plus side literally every worker commented on the grass...one even asked if it was real.

Bought EcoScraps for it 'cause they were out of Milo. Close enough, I guess.

Put down my 2nd application of "Spectracide Weed Stop for Lawns Plus Crabgrass Killer" (my experimental Q4-Plus substitute)

Lesson Learned: I have an electric backpack sprayer with 2 batteries. I learned that each battery pumps at different a rate. GAH! Used a different battery than first application and went light this time.

Stocked up on a "no name" 18-24-12 starter and some Milo for end-of-month applications.

DANG I love this farm supply store I found courtesy of my neighbor: the "no name" starter was a steal, WAY less than name brand! (They said it's the same product just packaged in a blank white bag with a printed label stuck on - works for me).

Mulched mow the yard. Looks like I will need another dose of weed killer. (already did 2)
While mowing, the neighbor next to me and across the street from me...
their dandelion seeds were floating in the air finding their way to my lawn. :banghead:
This is the time of the year I look for the next rainy day to apply my fertilizer.
Of course like usual, there is nothing in sight until June. :banghead:
Only threats of possible "spotty" showers or thunderstorms.

Mulched mowed today and adjusted my sprinkler heads. Grass was mumbling a bit. No rain since Monday and none in the site this week. Like you said maybe a spotty thunderstorm. (which we never get) I'm guessing by Tues or Wed this coming week the yard will be screaming at me for water. Supposed to hit low 80's here in Jersey by mid week. Sprinklers are ready!!!!

3rd application of CCO. Hopefully that will take care of the explosion of chickweed I had this year. :club:
Temps on some days will reach the high 80's in the next 10 days with "chance of showers or t-storm"
Still waiting on that rain so I can drop my fertilizer. Nothing in sight until June. :banghead:

No rain for days and none in sight. Irrigated part of the front lawn last night and the other half as we speak.
