Same here..no rain. Irrigated back yard early this morning with .5 inches Will get another .5 in 3 days. Takes too long to get 1 inch at once.

1st application of CCO to fight what survived the bottom of the pyramid (impressed how the 2nd application of Ortho WBG a few weeks ago completely wiped out this large section of what I think was dollarweed, some small grass shoots from last fall's overseeding are now emerging from the rubble)

For me, that's mid May, June, July, August, mid September.
I've given up. I hand water hops and fruit trees. The lawn is going native.

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Mowed yesterday. Still waiting for rain. Last mowed 5 days ago. Can't believe it's still growing with no rain.
I'm thinking it's our cool nights.
We've been on water restrictions for a month now....
Possibly some sort of mother nature help via t-storm over the weekend and Monday.
Hopefully I can get my fertilizer down... the spring flush is over.
I have synthetic and Milo. I would prefer to drop the synthetic and save the Milo for August...
but if Mother Nature doesn't cooperate.....
Last year had the same problem and had to apply the Milo in June due to lack of rain.

We've had rain in my area of south-central Pa but it looks like heat and no rain until June now.

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Watered the patch I hope to grow closed a second time. Watered the rose, which happens to hit part of the southwest lawn. But other than that, it's wilting and going dormant. There's no rain in the forecast for the next two weeks.
The gardens, on the other hand, are going hyperkinetic in the heat and sunlight and heavy feeding I've given them. While still small, May 20th looks more like June 1st. Keeping the rabbits out when there's little else hydrated to eat is a growing challenge.

Mowed and fertilized the lawn. T-storms forecast in the next few days, keeping fingers crossed.

Strings of days with 20% chances of T-storms have a name: "Summer".

I was planning to mow, but we had rain off and on all day.
Since we're in either extreme or severe (I forget which, but whichever is the worst) drought, I'll take the rain.

Micronutrient application of Borax w/ Milo Carrier.
This morning we had a "misting", meaning it wasn't even enough to dampen the borax on the milo while mixing.

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
I watered a bit of the lawn to keep the rabbits feeding on that instead of my garden. And then sprayed the garden with a cheap homemade rabbit repellant that I find works (and keeps deer out too).

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
I got the mower out, intending to start with the front, but there were a couple of ducks just chilling. So I started with the side, then the hellstrips.
By that time, the ducks decided to fly off, so I did the front.
I'll get the back tomorrow.

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Finally watched it rain on the thing. Only 0.1", but better than the 0" since the start of May. And it's rumbling out there again, so that's nice--with more rain expected again on Friday.

Mowed before the storm yesterday (Central NJ). Today I patch seeded a few spots to hopefully take advantage of the rain/cool temps coming up.

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Mowed a bit over around 1,500 square feet (out of 10K). Then quickly sprayed with kelp and soil conditioner to take advantage of the potential rainfall tomorrow through Saturday (up to an inch, maybe, if things don't go wrong. Again).
The gardens actually look fantastic for late May with the heat and sunlight. The grass, not so much.

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Just came in. Popped a tiny bit of fast nitrogen on the lawn to boost it (just a tenth pound per K or so).
Then dumped 26 per K of Milo on the gardens as the June feeding. Dropped a half pound urea per K on the gardens. Sprayed rabbit repellant for the night. Enjoyed the dopamine hit as my watch vibrated and played a merry tune as I hit my steps for the day hours early and without going anywhere near a staircase.
I'm tired, but noting that aging Milo on your hands (leftover bag from last year) smells a bit like baked goods as the smell fades so I think I'm having hunger hallucinations. Now I'm wanting a croissant. But no, I'm down to 156 pounds.

Mulch mowed today. Gonna drop some KH and BLSC along with the Spring fertilizer in the morning for the rain we are supposed to get. Looking at 1-2" around here. As Morph said "maybe, if things don't go wrong. AGAIN"

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
We had about 1/2" rain a couple days ago in a late day storm.
I couldn't drop my fertilizer at that time because the temp was 90.
Today the forecast shows very cool temps with rain tonight, some tomorrow, Sunday and maybe Monday.
I dropped my 30=0=4 fertilizer earlier today and await for Mother Nature to do her thing.
I'm a happy camper!
