Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
I spread roughly 12 lbs of spent grains.
Switching to all grain brewing may help me increase the organic content of my lawn. It'll soon be snow covered (I hope), so I won't be able to spread on the lawn for a while. But once it warms up again, I'll spread grains every brew day.

It's supposed to snow next weekend, so I dormant seeded blue grama. Then I saw that we're supposed to get canyon winds Monday night through Tuesday morning. I hope the seeds don't all get blown away.
Winds aren't supposed to get above 70 mph or so, though, so I'm hoping there won't be any major damage or power outages.

The highest recorded wind recorded was just down the street from me (that seems to be the spot that gets the highest wind every storm). 69 mph. So not as bad as the last storm. But more than a breeze.
We had a dusting of snow yesterday or the day before.
The wind blew that away. Blue grama seeds are like dust. I don't know if that makes them more likely to have gotten blown away, or if they're si small that they escaped the wind. I guess I'll find ot next year.

Saw it for the last time for some weeks. We got 27.4" of snow yesterday and today, with more coming in on Friday and near-zero temperatures next week.

I’m in California and did my first cut since November. Dropped some fert to even out the dark green patches from our dog’s pee.

Well not “on” my lawn but related, I started eight 10” Bewitched pots indoors today. It’s probably of more therapeutic value to me than practical but I will use them for bare spots later this spring.

Last of the snow melted. Raked the front and side lawns due to snow mold.
Due to the 100mph storm last year, had to cut my front tree down and will be laying sod down in the area. Most likely will over seed the entire lawn depending on what I see this season.

Woke up today with a yellow bush in the front yard... So, today I cleaned up some fallen sticks and spread pre-emergent. A couple of hours later we got a steady rain to incorporate it into the soil. When things dry up it is time for the first mow. Most of the lawn is still dormant, but the sunny areas are staring to grow and look good. I know you northern folk are patiently waiting for spring, but there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Buds are ready to burst on the forsythia and I converted the tractor from snow duty. Pulled the cab and the blade. Beautiful day in the high 50s...

The last of the snow is finally gone today, and the first Crocus flower opened. It's time I get to work!

My crocus are blooming too! On Sunday, I mounted the cutting deck on the tractor, greased everything and took it for a drive to chop up debris. Running great! What day here on Sunday...sunny and 65 degrees.
My big bottle of serenade also arrived over the weekend.

Continued tearing down an old fence on the side of the property. There’s so many vines, shrubs and trees that are interwoven it’s a tough job. I got a lot cleared out and will be back at it tomorrow

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Forsythia blooming, cleaned up sticks, and prodiamine down ahead of the rain on Sunday. I tried the hose end on part of the year but didn't like it. I have a chameleon unit and it is sometimes hard to tell if all of the material has been applied. I've had trouble with the 20-gallon sprayer for the tractor and my hilly yard, so I went to the 4-gallon backpack for the rest. With about 25k of yard, I'm always looking for an easier way to apply the liquids. Regardless, I'm enjoying sitting here today watching the rain come down and the barrier up...

I planted three trees. Two bare root (pear and peach) and one tiny live pomegranate tree in about as much soil as one of the sections in an egg carton.
The pomegranate tree is about 8" tall and the other two are almost 2 feet tall.
I'm not anticipating picking any fruit for a few years.
I also spread some humic dg.

Re: 2021: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Thinking about doing my first mow. I struggled with some BBDL last year that always seem peppered through the lawn. My starting height is going to be either 2.5 - 2.75", but thinking of taking the KBG down to 1.75" to start so BBDL is less noticeable. Thoughts? (Soil temp at 4" was 41°F yesterday but its warming up this week).

First mow of the season in the books. I pushed off directly behind the house and rode everywhere else.

Sprayed Dimension at about .4 oz per thousand sq ft. Used My4sons backpack sprayer, which I love. I was going to wait a few more days but forecast is for cooler and windy weather with some rain so today was the day.
