Bewitched Seed

Post by dhou » March 30th, 2021, 9:30 am

Does anyone have any leads on sod quality bewitched seed for this year?

I've called a few places on the "list" with no luck, including Pawnee which folks here seem to have had good luck with in the past. All I can seem to find is Preferred or SSS.

I purchased mine mixed with another KBG at superseedstore as well. Ford and Sons is great too (and much cheaper) but they are limited on selection. I sourced Mazama through them and was very pleased.

I got a price list from Pawnee Buttes Seed and they have certified sod Bewitched for $4 per lb (but this is based on a 50 lb purchase. I have used them before as well as SUperseedstore.

Thanks! I'll double check with them again but they didn't have any when I called two weeks or so ago and purchased some Prosperity from them.

Many vendors won’t sell to homeowners unless you are willing to buy a 50 pound bag.

A few weeks ago United Seeds said they weren't planning on getting any since their suppliers seeds were contaminated but Bewitched is now on their website.

Pawnee Butte (How to buy) Prices on the website are based on orders of 50 lbs or more. If you need a smaller order please call, and we can help you get what you need!

Price Breakdown: Prices listed under each seed are based on an order of 50 lbs or more.
26 to 49 lbs add $1.00 per lb to listed price
11 to 25 lbs add $2.00 per lb to listed price
1 to 10 lbs add $4.00 per lb to listed price

Just FYI, as mentioned above by Pway, the Pawnee Buttes 2021 price list that I just received in the mail lists a number of Kentucky Bluegrass cultivars that are popular ones amongst readers here:
  • Bewitched, Certified Sod Quality: $4.00/lb
  • Blueberry, Certified Sod Quality: $4.00/lb
  • Midnight, Certified Sod Quality: ASK
  • Prosperity, Certified Sod Quality: $4.20/lb
I also noticed the following on their price list, if you've had it with your KBG, or want to engage in biological warfare with another member who has offended you: ;)
  • Poa Trivialis: ASK
Disclaimer: I have no connection with Pawnee Buttes other than as a happy customer.
