It's not listed, but sources do say that dallisgrass is sensitive to Tenacity. So it's likely to suffer...but I can't tell you if it'll die and can't, in this case, recommend an off-label usage. But I can tell you that my globe thistle species is not listed, and is controlled very well by Tenacity...

As do I. I never fill it full, because I'm not 25 any longer, I'm more the reverse of that number with a busted knee. Just mix a gallon at a time, that's fine. If you don't use it, it can certainly sit in the backpack, it won't go bad. I do half-full backpack sprays when I do my Prodiamine in August.

Or use a two gallon hand-held sprayer--that's actually the way I do it nowadays--and spot spray weeds. Since I'm down to literally a few weeds thither and yon, it's all I need to do.

Not really. It will whiten it but even with multiple apps spread 2-3 weeks apart, it seems to stick around for the most part; I say for the most part b/c I have noticed some of it killed. The thing I tried for the first time last year and which seemed to work pretty well is triclopyr. I did 3 apps spread 2 weeks apart and it seems to eradicate all of it. After the 1st app, you can see it browning a little. This was done late summer so it was fully mature by then. It might require even less apps if done earlier in the season. The label says that it suppresses it. Not sure how that's different from the results I saw. I've been battling this crap for years. I'm really hopeful that I've finally found the magic bullet. Stuff is awful.

Thanks for the tip!

I happened to have Weed B Gone with triclopyr so I gave every spot of Dalligrass I could find a spray today. Fingers crossed. Will report back.

And just to re-emphasize b/c its so vital, like really anything you're targeting with triclopyr, the key is the repeated applications 2 weeks apart. If it doesn't look it it did much after the 1st, hit it again. If it looks like it did a lot maybe b/c they're in their infancy, still hit it again; don't let those bastards come back even stronger. I really hope I'm right about this discovery. I think I'm a few years older than my birth certificate says b/c of that hell weed.

Another thing, make sure it has triclopyr at 8%. Sounds like there's other versions of weed killer that have less. You don't want to be messing around. We're going nuclear.

It's almost like the triclopyr is bouncing off the leaves and not sticking. I wonder if a surfactant is needed. Or if I should spray after mowing when the stalks are cut and open.

triclopyr + tenacity will hurt it pretty bad. Some will survive though. I usually just end up spot spraying glyphosate and reseed.

Did you have any luck with the triclopyr? I can say that at least in my case that the two applications of cco I did late last summer wiped out most of my large infestation and that my 1st broadcast application of hi yield this year got rid of almost of all of the remaining stragglers. I'll spot treat the little that's left in another week. Told my brother about this since he had a lot as well and a week after applying cco, he's seeing considerable browning.

I recently (a few days ago) tried Fenoxaprop-p-ethy for the first time. I was spraying a weedy Perennial Paspalum species (not Dallisgrass). We will see how it goes. In my research, I read that this AI will kill Dallisgrass, but that it works best when it hasn't yet tillered extensively. You might want to give it a try.
