Q4 vs Spectracide App Rates
I made a recent discovery.
I've purchased Gordon's Q4 Plus in the past. Works well, kind of pricey.
I found a more easily obtainable alternate in Spectracide "Weed Stop for Lawns plus Crabgrass Killer".
BOTH have Quinclorac, which is what I'm looking for to take care of a yellow foxtail issue.
My question is 2-fold
1) Do I need to follow Spectracide's gal H2O per Acre (87gal/A) instructions or can I use Q4's (50gal/A)
2) Can I ratchet up the application rate of Spectracide to match the AI rate of Q4? (would mean applying Spectracide at 9oz/M vs the instructed 6.4oz/M)
Additional information:
-Both products have the same AI's, and they're proportioned to each other exactly the same.
-Below is an image of the two labels and some math I did to compare AI %'s and application rates.

Re: Q4 vs Spectracide App Rates
Relooking at my math - with my electric backpack sprayer, 25galH20/A is more realistic. What if I only go at 25gal/A vs the 50 (Q4) or 87 (Spectracide)?
I'm not too excited about using a hose-end sprayer for herbicide.

Re: Q4 vs Spectracide App Rates
Update: I put down my 2nd application of this Spectracide Weedstop for Lawns plus Crabgrass Killer 5/12/21 (1st app was 4/30/21).
It does not seem to be effective against my young yellow foxtail. I guess it's time to ratchet up to Tenacity.
Any advice on how long to wait before following up with Tenacity? (Spectracide contains, 2-4,D, Diacamba, Sulfentrazone, & Quinclorac)

Wait ten to fourteen days between herbicides. It'll take that long to assure that it isn't going to work anyway.

Thanks Morph. That was my thoughts as well. Just wanted confirmation.MorpheusPA wrote: ↑May 19th, 2021, 1:47 pmWait ten to fourteen days between herbicides. It'll take that long to assure that it isn't going to work anyway.
