Need Help with Lawn (Pic Included)
Can really use some guidance on how to proceed with my current lawn
Please see below for what I've done up until today
Early March - blanket Prodiamine
End of March - blanket Tenacity
Start of April - Tenacity second application
Second week of April - Q4 Plus Herbicide
Last week - Scotts GreenMax Fertilizer and Sulfate of Potash (based on recommendation from Soil Test)

Re: Need Help with Lawn (Pic Included)
I'm getting mixed responses from various people...
Some say that I should dethatch and overseed the area. Even though I put down prodiamine and Q4.
Some say leave it alone for 6 weeks.
Some say more nitrgoen.
I am lost

Leave it be. Just keep up with proper mowing and watering techniques and see how it comes along. Follow your soil test plan. Patience. Keep up the fight on any weeds if they are a problem. It's still early in the season here on LI, the grass isn't quite running at full speed yet, at least not for me. Another week or two. Overseed in the fall if you have bare or patchy areas, but no point in thinking about that now, especially after applying the prodiamine.

Some say you're killing it with kindness. Back off on all the kindness, let it recover and then see where you're at. I'm unfamiliar with the Q4 product but this may be what you are experiencing.
Per the product label: Turfgrass tolerance to this product may vary and temporary turfgrass yellowing may occur on fine fescues, Bermudagrass, and zoysiagrass (see specific Bermudagrass and zoysiagrass sections). Apply only to fine fescue when it is part of a mixed stand of cool-season turf/cool-season blends. Tolerant turf species listed on this label may exhibit temporary turf injury. The best tolerance occurs under optimal conditions for the turfgrass.

If that were my yard:
1. Dethatch or rake all of that dead stuff.
2. Sharpen my lawnmower blade
3. Max out my height of cut
4. Mow once a week
Thats it until youre due for your next fert.

Are you sure this isn't just tenacity lighting up everything it kills or weakens? Also, did you blanket the Q4 or spot treat? I'm in agreement with @Masbustelo,it sure seems like you may want to relax a little on the chemical treatments and let the lawn recover.KPersico wrote: ↑April 30th, 2021, 8:51 amCan really use some guidance on how to proceed with my current lawn

Re: Need Help with Lawn (Pic Included)
I am having lawn flash backs, that could be my old lawn. I had a lot of grass that grew OK, but also a lot weeds and grassy weeds.
I really jumped the gun when I first started, and made a bunch of mistakes.
Try and be patient and go through the triangle approach to take care of the weeds and see where you are. Taking care of the weeds and watering less frequently can make for a big improvement.
learn what Poa-Annua and Poa Triv look like. You seem to have some poa-a, and if you have poa triv its a nightmare, but considering your just starting, killing off the triv now will help you if you decide to over-seed in the future. If you have any poa-a, hand pulling works OK for me,you can save the tenacity for an over-seed later in the year.
You will have plenty of future decisions to make, but this spring just take care of the weeds and build up your lawn routine a little at a time. There is no need to take everything everyone does on here, and start doing it right away. Slowly learn the basics of it all and try to understand how and why your doing something.

Still looks pretty short. Whats your HOC?
You'll see that green grass 'spread' into the brown areas as that healthy grass starts to grab morning dew.
