Local source for Humic DG in CT or tri state

Post by mvlawn » June 7th, 2021, 11:17 am

Anyone have luck purchasing The Andersons Humic DG in CT???

Want to put down 2lbs/k by the end of June so willing to drive the tri state area to pick it up.

Last bag I got had free shipping and that really spoiled me. Shipping is now $27.00 from A.M. Leonard and would love to get it locally.

I spoke with the guys at Valley Green in Norwalk CT and Terry does not carry it. Called Valley Green Wilmington, MA and they no longer carry it.

Any thoughts Thanks Mark

I have a source on Long Island but I’m not sure if you want to make that trip!

Have you tried all of the Anderson’s distributors listed here?

I am in Huntington on business quite often so L.I. would work.

I tried Metro Turf in Brookfield and they never got a call back.

A member recently made a post on Memorial Day weekend. AM Leonard had purchases over $50 with free shipping. I picked up a bag then. I realize that doesn’t help you now, but hopefully they post another deal like that soon

Thanks everyone. Will keep trying to find it in the tri-state area as well as on-line.

Didn't see anyone mention SiteOne. Did you try them?

Yes, tried the Site One in Bridgeport and they do not carry any Anderson products. They do have a Lesco Carbon Pro that has been mentioned here before but have not tried it yet. Might be marketing hype but the bags are only $24.00 so might be worth a try to see how it acts on a test area.

Thanks for the try.

I have an email into The Andersons now waiting for a response and also to Metro Turf in Brookfield who is a distributor for The Andersons. The family that owns Metro Turf his brother owns Apgar Turf in Danbury. I am going to see if Metro can sell some Humic DG to Apgar Turf for me to buy. We will see how that goes. Might open up a channel for us folks in CT. Who knows. If you don't buy pallets of the stuff they don't want to know you.

Thanks YEM I was not successful in finding DG here in CT. However I have been trying out something from SiteOne called CarbonPro G. At $24.99 per bag it was worth a try.

I'll try again with the guys at Metro next season and probably look for the free shipping deals at AM Leonard.

Thanks again. Mark

Mark,
Call Justin at Lawn Pro in Hartford, CT 860-461-1679. He carries a granular Humic that I used this fall before a renovation. https://lawnpropesticides.com/

You have to be very careful when selecting a granular humic product - they vary dramatically in how much humic acid is in the bag you purchase. The percentage can vary from 3% - 70%. My testing showed that many/most of the products are close to worthless.
