Fescue lawn. I have areas of this stuff. It is very shallow rooted, some sections blew out with a backpack blower. Also how would I kill it before overseeding In the fall? Thanks.

Look up the characteristics of Bentgrass, especially Creeping Bentgrass, and see if the description fits what you have. The false crowning is the tipoff and why I'm suggesting it.

When you pull it, is it matted like a rug?

These areas arent matted, no. I do have other areas that are matted, but I'm not sure if they are the same grass or a different one. This does seem to fit the characteristics of creeping bentgrass. I'm about to nuke the lawn with glypho though, so hopefully that takes it out along with everything else.
