Labor Day: Time for Best Weed Control

Post by andy10917 » September 6th, 2021, 9:15 am

Well, we've reached Labor Day, and this is a reminder that this is probably the best time to go after the weed control, in the whole year. As the weather begins to cool a bit, the weeds go from Summer Survival Mode to full metabolism. Use this opportunity to really get them under control, and the Pre-M down to prevent germination of Poa Annua and other Fall-germinating weeds.

What if I don't have any weeds? Can I stand around and laugh at the people who do?

I overseeded on 8/14 and have lots of germination currently. When is it safe to start battling some weeds?

Generally, wait until the second mowing has been done.

Thank you. Looks like I'm good to go this coming weekend. Nothing terrible, just some broadleaf here and there that drinks me crazy when I see it.
