Very nice edslawnedslawn wrote: ↑April 24th, 2022, 9:19 pmBusy few weeks... This weekend (and last), I was spreading wood chips that cover much of the perimeter of my yard. I have the three dogs trained to use it for their business so the grass is doing well in back. It was about 30 yards of chip material, so I'm pooped. I also dropped milo at the bag rate, sprayed for various weeds and patched some bare spots using "nursery" grass.
The grass is really looking great after several years of soil conditioning and following advice from this forum. Really impressive (both the site and my lawn)!
Yesterday I spot sprayed WBG
Mulch spreading on my agenda for this week.

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
I mowed with my manual reel mower. I let it get too long before mowing. With a manual reel mower, the blades just push the grass over. So I had to take the weed whacker to patches.
I'll also have to mow again this weekend.

Sprayed glyphosate on 10k sq ft in prep for a (gasp) spring seeding.

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Mowed the side yard.
I'll need to mow both front and side again this weekend because the grass was so long. Maybe I'll mow the back tomorrow and mow all three on Sunday.
Mowing on Sundays is kind of frowned on around here, but since my mower doesn't have an engine, it won't disturb people. But if I had a mower with an engine, I wouldn't need to mow twice.

Mowed and put down some PurelyOrganic Lawn Food which is a soybean meal fertilizer. Trying to push some growth to hopefully get my KBG to fill in some holes. Also put down some bioadvanced grub killer plus and ferrous sulphate to add some iron content for a green up.

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Did my 2nd mow for the year.
Spread lots of mulch and still have more to do.
I actually added pavers to keep the mulch in my backyard gardens.
This has been an on going issue.
Bought another bag of Milo for August's wake up call.
May buy another bag just because I can.

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Lol. I know. It was very cool the day I sprayed, and the section is 100% weeds. I’m still getting actual turf established since we built our house, doing sections at a time. It all comes down to this weeks weather. If all cooperates, I will proceed with spring reno. If not, all bets are off.edslawn wrote: ↑April 30th, 2022, 8:46 amYou are outta control!!DevilDawg81 wrote: ↑April 29th, 2022, 10:11 pmSprayed glyphosate on 10k sq ft in prep for a (gasp) spring seeding.

I started to spray broadleaf yesterday but it started getting too windy so I stopped, plan to finish today. Got 2 1/2 acres done, one more to go today. No rain in the forecast until tomorrow so should be good.

Mowed. It’s dry enough now I was able to mow out by the beehives which was nice. Weedeated and sprayed Tenacity on west side of property.

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
I mowed the back lawn. It was way too tall, and with the manual reel mower, that means lots of patchiness.
I planned to mow it yesterday, and then mow the rest of the lawn to pick up the patches I missed with the first pass. But it started raining just about the time I was ready to start. So I guess I'll do the follolwup later this week. And probably again this weekend.

Fed it. I had some Organic Choice Lawn Food kicking around and time yesterday afternoon. Rain's expected Saturday.

Mowed and put down first Serenade app. Cold and wet right now, but heat coming next week. Gearing up to tackle my neighbor's weeds while he's on vacation. I might accidentally put down a KelpHelp/Shampoo app on his lawn too

Second application of Ortho WBG (2.4D, MCPP, Dicamba) to finish off the broadleaf weeds hating life.

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
I got 65% of the GrubEx down this evening (all I had in stock as the package is LATE, UPS!) before rainfall tomorrow. So two-thirds of the lawn and gardens are done, at least.

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Got a mow in this evening and applied some glyphosate using a foam brush to the poa triv that's throughout the lawn (~20% of it... ugh). Going at it in patches. The lawn is going to look a little rough until I can overseed this fall.

I sure hope adding micronutrients is worth it. 13 bags of Baystate and 162.5 tablespoons of 20 mule team went down today.
Woof!
