Literally have thrown up my hands when it comes to irrigating to keep up with this drought. I don't think we have had rain in over 3 weeks and were in a week long heatwave. I'm just going to let the yard be for now and hopefully we get some decent rain soon.

agree. I'm also in CJ. We haven't had rain in a month! I let mine get a little crispy. I give it a half inch every couple weeks. It's crazy. All the rain has been above me. Bergen county, and below in Monmouth and Ocean County!

Later than I wanted but I got 400# of cracked corn on the lawn before what is hopefully a rainy weather pattern coming our way. It’s been so dry :(

Mowed last night. Picked up 14 bags of off brand Milo (Menards ecorganite) for the wake up dose heading into the fall for nitrogen regimen

Scalped ~1/2 acre out front. Got most of it raked up. Just ran out of daylight. Getting ready for reno. I have a guy coming next week to spread topsoil as I have severe dips in spots from construction a few years ago.

Put down milo yesterday before rain. Only got .6" of rain Friday and Saturday, with another chance tomorrow.

Gotten lucky with the rain department this year. Enough rain to keep things green and using my irrigation less than 10 times this year. I could have used it more, but with the economy the way it is.... yeah.

Put down my last two bags of Ocean Gro today with rain coming tomorrow. I’m hoping that’s a nice little wake up for the lawn so I can start some nitrogen treatments in a few weeks.

Sprayed with kelp and soil conditioner...then watched the weather drop four inches of rain in a single day. That's the first rain in almost a month, so I'm not really complaining, but that's too much for even my soil to absorb.

I put down kelp help and BLSC (following @morpheusPA's lead) today... It was a little heartbreaking to recall the beautiful spring flush and look at the straw field now. My front is hilly and gets the brunt of the afternoon sun, so it is weird. The backyard looks pretty good and the front looks like it needs a total reno.

I put down a sprinkle of urea on my rear yard (19k), mowed it, then got 4/10 of rain.

Lowered my height of cut from 4" to 3.5" for the upcoming fall season. Also watered 1" per zone overnight. Trying to get some of this grass awake because I'll be dropping my first shot of fast nitrogen soon.

Stared at my lawn and new KBG single (mono) cultivar seedlings in "pots" and one area that I reseeded (bewitched is doing incredible well near the concrete sidewalk and asphalt road compared to my "pots," even with far less water, perhaps due to the heat and late day sun.

This year, I posted about while ago about how I neglected my yard since 2020 and wanted to to make it a good year as well as some issues with construction next door (I won't speak to the later yet, but I will share the process and outcome when I can). More destruction occured, all documented.

That said, I am ready for fall. put down milo and have urea on reserve.

Thanks to Mother Nature, I didn’t have to be a slave to my sprinkler setup and grass seedlings! My daughter (2 y/o) and I looked for “baby grass.” She kept finding the rampant Creeping Charlie and yelling “found some!” She’ll learn…

Walked the property yesterday and sprayed some Bifen-IT around the house perimeter. Between the drought and my continuing mole problem, the yard is depressing. I have good SSS seed and fert ready, but a little unsure when to do it. I have a supply of water from my creek, but it has been hard to keep up with the current lawn due to the complete lack of help from mother nature. Now today it is raining, and they are predicting 2" between 8am and midnight. Grateful for the rain, but it is too little too late to save the mess that I have now... thanks for "listening" to me whine :)
