Spread humic acid. We're supposed to get a couple of days I'd rain later this week, so I figured these timing is right.

I'm riding along shotgun with edslawn. With maples and oaks in my yard and both of my neighbors I spent most of the day carting their leaves into my yard for mulching tomorrow after they dry out. That's just the beginning. LOL

My big hardwoods still seem to have a lot of leaves holding on and the yard is still loaded. I'm not sure that I'd want any morepristinegreen75 wrote: ↑November 1st, 2022, 4:58 pmI'm riding along shotgun with edslawn. Speaking of neighbors, while I was out mulching from my tractor seat earlier this week, two of my newer neighbors from across the street were busily running leaf blowers and raking everything into the street for pickup. They didn't ask me, but I was thinking they must think I'm nuts (I even very briefly thought about asking them for their leaves)

Made several passes over the lawn mulching leaves while watching more leaves fall down.

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Was debating on putting down Urea, but I feel like I'm not quite out of the pause yet. All those days in the high-60s and low 70s over the past couple of weeks makes me think that the growing was extended since the first frost about 3 weeks ago I can wait a bit longer.
Would be nice to get it down with all the rain coming from the hurricane remnants tomorrow, but I'm sure there will be another opportunity.

I'm watching too... Mulched the last of the leaves this weekend and still had growth here in South Central PA. My understanding is that you are better off being a little late than a little early with the Urea.Setzer1994 wrote: ↑November 10th, 2022, 1:54 pmWas debating on putting down Urea, but I feel like I'm not quite out of the pause yet. Yesterday, 11/15/22:
Final major leaf cleanup in front. (This is the only batch that wasn't mulched in this Fall, and >95% of leaves are now down.)
Put down final Winterizing fertilizer application on the coldest lawn areas, which is now getting watered in by rain. Had a few minutes of snow earlier at the beginning.

Probably did last leaf mulch mow for the year. Grass is still growing enough for a few more cuts.

I made a batch of beer and spread the spent grains on the lawn.

Mulched leaves in the front. Ran out back and checked the beehives. I’m likely done with any mowing for 2022 and will be cleaning up the zero turn in the next few days

Lawn in the pause... temps in the 50s, ground up some final leaves, and dropped 2lbs/k of Urea 46-0-0 on 20k+. 1/2" of rain predicted for Sunday (and more later next week.) Good night lawn! Pretty happy with myself as I sip an adult beverage.

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
It was sort of a mystery beer. I bought some grains called Wundergrains. These are mixed grains resulting from various errors. So you never know what they're going o be. I used 10 lbs of wundergrains and 5 lbs of victory malt. I used nugget hops for bittering and callista for flavor/aroma.
It came out pretty dark, so it will probably be a hoppy stout or porter or a black IPA.
I won't know how it turns out for a while.
It's in the fermenter now. I'll keg it in about 3 weeks and tap it a few weeks after that (largely depending on when the keg(s) before that empty.

Re: 2022: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today?
Finally put my Urea down today with some decent incoming rain this afternoon and on Wednesday. Time to close up shop until spring!
