Not sure if triv or something else
It's definitely what I would call 'roughstalk' (i.e. feels very rough/solid/think), but it's not as light green/growing faster like I normally see.
I just noticed it mixed in a really nice part of my lawn. It wasn't noticeable just a week ago, and then all of a sudden there it is...
Once the post is approved I can reply to it and add more pics.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Re: Not sure if triv or something else
Almost definitely either Triv or KBG. Which, I'm not sure.
Try my "string test":
I know it sounds strange but it works. Cut a few blades off the plant. Grab one, and try to stretch it with the fingers of two hands. Try that with several. If one or more blades "string" rather than evenly breaking all at once, it passed the test. Passing means it's not KBG (unless there's a variety of it that exhibits this behavior, but I haven't seen one yet). Passing means it's likely to be Triv (but could be annua, too). I found this by accident a few years ago.
Good luck.

Don’t think it’s triv, thinking an annual something but the name escapes me now.

Re: Not sure if triv or something else
Green: Thanks. I'll try the string test and see what happens.
PSU4ME: If not triv, and some sort of annual, any thoughts on what to spray on it (or just let it die out on its own)?
Unfortunately it's right in the middle of the puppy area so I want to be careful what I do.

Re: Not sure if triv or something else
Looks like it might have a Poa-type tip, so it's likely to be one. But if it does turn out to be a non-aggressively-spreading annual grass, can you dig or maybe even pull it up over time?

Re: Not sure if triv or something else
I've been pulling some of it, but there's a bit too much sporadically throughout one section to really keep doing that (but I'll keep trying). It's mostly a piece or two here and there (but many of them), rather than big sections to just pull.

Re: Not sure if triv or something else
I would say not trivialis. Trivialis generally won't seed in a regularly maintained lawn. To me it doesn't look like annua either.

Does it get lit up from tenacity?

Re: Not sure if triv or something else
I haven't yet sprayed it with anything as it's right in the area where puppy does her business.
That being said, I've been told tenacity is very safe once dry, so I might give it a shot and just keep puppy out of that area for a day or so.
