Weed ID and what to treat it

Post by GsdRamsey » November 14th, 2022, 10:45 am

Need some help in identifying this weed or grass. When I pull on it, there’s runners or rhizomes that spreads on the surface to help spread more.
Thanks in advance.

Assuming you are correct and it has runners…

Probably a warm-season grass. If it turns brown in the Winter, it almost surely is one of these three Nimblewil, Zoysia or Bermuda.

If it’s Nimblewil, Tenacity might do the job. But you can’t kill it once it goes dormant. You’ll have to wait until it greens back up.

Its definitely not zoysia. I though it might be Nimblewil, but I couldn’t confirm or find pictures that looked like mine. Those brown bunch of blades looking like bouquet generally appear in mid August. I see them all year because they don’t grow tall enough to be mowed. It definitely has runners.

Thanks for your quick response.
