Re: 2023: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today (Cool Season)
Its been warm (for January) and dry for a few days, so most od the snow has melted. It's supposed to start snowing tonight and there's a good chance of rain and/or snow every day for the next week or so
I took advantage of the calm between the storms to spread some humic dg.

With the snow melting/melted, picking up any sticks, etc.. that happened to find my lawn in the past several months.
Looking for any damage of the lawn, as well where it looks like I'm going to have even more problems/pressure from the weeds and tall fescue invading from the neighbors on 3 sides.

Been 2 months since my previous mow, and no evidence another is going to be needed in the next couple of weeks. Yes, you read that right. I mowed the main front in early January. First time ever mowing in Jan. Temps are still in the 20s at night, and soil temps are in the 40s. Need to get the bed cleaned out of leaves this week so as not to damage the Crocus and Daffodils before they bloom.

Mowed half the front yard this afternoon. It was full of grassy weeds that have grown with are warmer temps. I was getting sick of seeing them and knocked them back a bit.

Took soil samples and dropped dimension. A little early for the dimension, but expecting (hopefully) a nice rain in the next few days.

Sent off soil samples to Logan Labs. Purchased a new electric pruner.
Picked up sticks that came in from a strong wind, and preparing for a late season snow.

Today - took soil samples and mailed. Yesterday - picked up sticks and (more fun) went to the feed store for SBM, alfalfa meal and cracked corn (first time trying the corn).

"Hid" plastic eggs for the neighborhood easter egg hunt. It was probably in the 50s for the festivities, but most of the lawn was still snow covered. I put hid in quotation marks because I just spread them around in the spots that didn't have snow.
