Weed eated, mowed and then sprayed fungicide
"Weed eated" :rotfl:
They were tasty 😜

Today I applied fungicide to the entire lawn.

Worked on sprinkler system then spot sprayed weeds. More weeds than I anticipated, looking at options to kill some odd weeds.

Mowed. Then sprayed BLSC. About 30 minutes later we got a nice shower

On Sunday, Applied 10-10-10 to the entire yard and beds. Missed the rain on Saturday, so I'll be watering it in by hand today.

I'm riding out this heatwave and letting the grass grow until Sunday when it cools to highs in the 80s. Also, planning on more aggressive Serenade apps.

I glared at it and not in a good way.

When I did my reno, it was because I had a very late in the season (mid/late Sept 2020) grub diagnosis. Being that late, I had to order seed ASAP so didn't have months or even weeks to research. I was afraid I wasn't ready for an all KBG lawn but darn, the no-mix is driving me crazy. I can't unsee the differences in textures and the PR flops and doesn't get cut evenly. (I've changed and sharpened blades.)

I can't do a fall reno because my 4/7 prodiamine app was ~six months worth. So now it's between a dormant seeding early 2024 and a fall 2024 seeding. Or I convince myself to live with it. Uh, probably not.

I know dormant seeding isn't favored here. That's what I did last time, and I was super happy, but since I know more now and would be doing KBG, I might feel different after this one . Plus there's the big downside of seven-ish months of dead lawn.

On the plus side, my lawn is only ~2100 sf, so nothing is a huge deal. I love to experiment, I've learned a lot so far this year, and no matter which way I go I'll learn more and fix it if I mess it up.

Glyphosate on the 2nd third of my lawn. Note to self: buy a backpack sprayer next time. Doing this with a hand can is a PITA. One more app later this week and the whole thing should be started. I ran out of time this morning. If it needs another blanket in a few week, I’m getting a backpack. The areas I did last week are getting pretty yellow so I’m hopeful that it will just be spot spraying. Fingers crossed!!

Even better, a walk behind sprayer like an S15 or S25 Earthway (not sure they are still sold) backpack sprayers are not great

Mowed at 3” and overseeded with a TTTF mix. Applied starter fertilizer. It had been a few years since I had done a fall overseed. I don’t particularly think my lawn NEEDED it but I figured better safe than sorry.

I cleaned out my "dry products" bin, mixed up some organics including Earth Works, Rich Lawn, alfalfa meal, and cracked corn. It equated to about 0.5lb nitrogen per M.

Fertilized this morning before the afternoon rain. Planning on getting down one more application before my average first day of frost.

Continuing the fall apps. Skipped the first couple due to zero rain for several weeks.
Getting things ready for fall and that horrible season which comes after. :)

2nd urea app applied on Wednesday afternoon. This afternoon we got .5” rain

It’s been extremely dry here, especially September. It’s been heartbreaking for turf.
