Put the last of my seed down for dormant-seeded reno. Did split apps due to weather issues and travel.

Cleaned up the winter storm debris. Tons of small to midsize sticks and hickory nut husks from falling out of the trees during high winds.

Pulled samples, drying them out before sending to Logan. First time I can remember that I don't have any spots to transplant plugs into. I usually pull a 4" plug to get the sample then transplant into a needed spot. Just filled in some soil and put the plug back. General walkthrough to see any spots that might need attention.

Just put down some Dithiopyr after the forsythia popped open yesterday in the warm spell -- had to make a fast run to Bowen's early this morning!

I put down a lighter application of rapid lime and did some general debris cleanup. Gonna fire up the tractor so I can get some Kelp Help down and ready for what I think will be an early application of preM

Sprayed Tenacity and Round Up on lawn and garden weeds. I may have accidentally slipped up to eight feet over the line but...I'll never tell. Still waiting for my own soil tests, the soil arrived last Wednesday.

Just raking so far. But today is in the 30s. Daffodils are starting to bloom the past week or so, and now some Forsythia.

I had 1.2 bags of calcitic lime and that covered 60% of the lawn before our rainstorm (my soil pH came back at 5.7, mostly calcium short, with my soil balancing around 6.2). So I picked up six more bags tonight (2 bags fast, 4 bags very slow calcitic to maintain it over the next two years).

Supposed to get some rain this coming Tuesday so I started putting my prodiamine down. It started to get too window so I stopped spraying. Still have about 2 acres to spray. Hopefully the wind dies down some in the next day or so. Not sure if it is too early, too late, or about right but since I treat about 4 acres I have to rely on rain and this is the only forecasted for the next week or so.

Re: 2024: What Did You Do On Your Lawn Today (Cool Season)
Not today, but I'm trying to catch up. And not me, but my Brite who came to help me out for a few days.
He mowed my lawn. He was going to just now the back, but the battery was still working, so he kept going. When the battery died, there was just a little triangle, so he grabbed my manual tell mower and finished up.
I'm hoping it won't get too bad beige my sister and Brite in law visit. I'm guessing I'm still a month or so away from being able to do it myself. And even then, I'll have to split it into at least 3 sections. If I still had my gas mower, I'm pretty sure I'd have to wait even longer.
