Can you apply it in 85+ temps with the chelated iron? The fungicidal properties are a nice additive if the chemicals don't kill the bacteria before you get to use it. The Yucca is a nice addition as a surfactant, though I'm not sure if you have had issues with soil penetration or not. Hopefully it works out and provides a noticeable benefit for you. Lugging that backpack around every two weeks for the next two seasons would be deterrent enough for me.

No issues with temps during application. I'm with you on the every two weeks deal, makes me want a push sprayer real bad. I may only end up applying once a month from October-January and every 2 weeks from now until September. All depends on what sort of returns I get out of it. I'm committing to spraying more this season and feeding my turf in sips as needed with my sandy soil.

Stripes

Post by Southernguy311 » May 22nd, 2016, 1:40 pm

Thursday was the one year anniversary of installation of this beautiful grass. Today the turf is looking pretty good. Not quite 100% yet, but getting closer quickly. Best striping it's shown this season.

Thanks man I am excited about it and really appreciate the comments. When I did the initial mowing pass on Saturday in my side yard I saw the stripe that was layed down and knew it was going to be a good day.

As an added note I will say I am impressed with the recovery results I got from the Calcium Nitrate, fearsome Foursome, Maxikelp Cocktail I foliar sprayed following aeration and verticutting.

Heats been blistering here and most of my neighborhoods lawns are cooked or on their way to be. Some even approaching drought dormancy. We've seen only .10 of rain in two weeks and had consistent temps in the 90s

Turf is handling it with class. Pic of any area I moved a sprinkler head to this weekend. This is the area hit the hardest when I had disease at the start of May. It's "mostly recovered" but not 100% yet.

Sprayed Micros, Beer, and the quarterly dose of PreM on Wednesday. The color is looking oh so lovely with that blue hue(all the while). Wishing I could shake the seedheads, but they should be gone in a few weeks.

Roots 1-2-3 is going down late Saturday evening. Just getting started!!

Went down with the Roots 1-2-3 this evening. Mixed it with Calcium Nitrate @ .25/N/1000

I also went down with a light dose of Milo also at .25N/1000

Watering it in now. Can't wait to see the color respond and get a little darker. The R123 and Milo will be the first Iron the turf has seen since dropping Milo back in April and only second time this season.

The turf quality/density is really thickening up and handling the heat really well.

Do you like the 26" mower? Is it an 8-blade?

Mine is the 526 tee/collar version which has the 7 blade reel and heavy knife.

I do love it, but wish my yard had less weird spots created by manmade objects like cable boxes, power boxes, light poles etc. maneuvering around those spots with a unit that essentially ends up being 3 feet wide is a nuissance, but on the wide open runs, it's nice.

I still have a Toro Flex 21 I need to put into use, but haven't gotten around to it yet. When I get it 100% I'll have some decisions to make on whether to drop the HOC on the Paspalum or just use it on the Bermuda for this season.
