How is it working for you?KB in MD (21740) wrote:minimalistic? but works as needed for now

I have one and it does a really bad job at cutting Bermuda. Thinking of selling it soon because it leaves grass uncut in several places and creates crazy patterns on the grass after cut.
Hopefully your experience will be better than mine.

Ours cuts really good and misses no blades. Cutting @3" is great. My first attempt @2" it leaves the dreaded /\/\/\/\ marks. I'm wondering if I maintain the HOC @2" if that will go away or if I crisscross? If not I'm ok with leaving it @3". I read but don't quite understand the post about # of blades/speed/clip rate = optimum HOC? I just wish our lawn was flat

WTH? SOo pissed
I'm at a loss. My neighbor mowed my lawn without consent. I just mowed the lawn on Tue evening to avoid the 90* temps we're experiencing. Much to my F'!@#$ chagrin I come home from work today and my neighbor from CAMAROON has SCALPED the heck out of my lawn. Some places down to the soil. It's in the 90's with no rain in site for the next few days. I am beyond pissed as just 2 weeks ago he drove through it to make a U-turn because it was easier than backing out of the 24' driveway. I explained to him and to his mother to please not touch my lawn. They were very apologetic then and I explained my stance. We are pretty neighborly. My guess is they did it to repay me for maintaining their lawn for the last 8 or so years but still....
D@mn, I just got it down to my first mow @2" and it looked ok other than the /\ /\ /\ /\
Should I water?

You will be fine, it will just look crappy for a while. I keep my zoysia at 3/4" so that isn't an issue. Give it a little water and some time. Might even come back thicker than before.

Re: 2016 Southern Lawn Pics
My hoc is now around 1" to avoid scalp. I'm pretty happy with it and I really don't mind the taller cut. It's currently very dense and spongy making the mower ride up on the turf. Its definitely taller in some spots and shorter in others because my lawn is no where near level. I started the season at 5/8" which was pretty much as low as I could go without hitting soil in the high spots.

Models like French fries and keg stands too. Just takes some cojones to go that route. I'll make sure to snap you some photos when I do edge in November. Lol

I am excited to see what you do this year Simon! No need for a Spring scalp I assume?

Re: 2016 Southern Lawn Pics
I will smack it down in a few weeks and get some more sand down, particularly on the front. I would like to maintain at 0.125" again but we will see. A couple of things to fine tune to keep it at for that height the whole season.Redtenchu wrote: I am excited to see what you do this year Simon! No need for a Spring scalp I assume?
