Yes. I plan to Pre-m this week after finishing the rest of the aerating and sanding.

Dropped Vigoro 35-0-5 pm the whole yard. Dropped 3/4 bag milo on the front yard. Received my 10lb tub of 120 grit backlapping compound from R&R Products.

Re: 2016: What did you do on your lawn today?
I didn't have the helper shown above but I did manage to mow at 2" today. Couldn't believe the amount of discharge coming out of the mower considering I just mowed on Sunday!
Had a neighbor stop by and ask what type of grass I had. I've read here that someone else answered, "Same type you have!" so I borrowed that response!

Mowed with the McLane. Aerated more trouble spots and sanded. Watered with the rain train. Tomorrow I am going to try to backlap and adjust the reel to bed knife for the first time.

Congrats, Red. Saw your post from up above, in an earlier pic in the thread.
One thing I was curious about though was: do PGR's help you use a lesser amount of water, since the turf may not lose as much due water to transpiration during its stunted growth? Is that feasible to assume? Have you noticed any lesser requirements for water? The soil still, and always will need water to replenish the net losses in extreme heat waves. Do you notice any difference with the beneficial use of PGR's, in terms of watering? Or is it strictly a mowing benefit ?

It sure does feel like I've watered less this year, but rainfall may have a lot to do with that. I just water when the grass tells me too, and that has only been a few times this year.Tony alony wrote:Congrats, Red. Saw your post from up above, in an earlier pic in the thread.

Watering with Primo
Tony, the RegiMax label (generic Primo) states:
That sentence is slightly vague, but even though a PGR can help with turf pre-stressing, and shrinks the blades, the turf also gets more dense. So in the end, I think it's a wash, and normal watering should be expected. Like Red says, if you always simply water when the lawn needs it, you'll be ok. As for any significant water savings, I haven't seen any and I water and fertilize like normal.Quality turf areas treated with this product should continue to receive regular maintenance
practices, including irrigation; fertilization; and weed, disease, and insect control when
necessary.

Re: 2016: What did you do on your lawn today?
That aint no lie, my next bill will hover around the 200$ range for this month. I still have a couple of spots in my front yard, and a couple of bigger spots in my back that cant cope with the 100+ degrees that Austin is getting. But, I did get about 2 minutes worth of rain yesterday! Its been about 3 months of not seeing any rain.Yossarian wrote:I got a bill last summer and just the water portion was about $250 not counting trash, electricity, etc. I think the bill was over $500 in total. Wife wasn't super happy.Southernguy311 wrote:What's your rediculous threshold? $100 $150 $200? More?Yossarian wrote:Got a mow in today. The yard has taken a bit of a hit with the heat and lack of rain. I'm trying to avoid some of the ridiculous water bills I got last year.
